No doubt an awesome year!! Never would have thought they'd make it to the Final Four losing the Paris girls and then Hand early in the year. She can flat out coach.

I'm going to play devil's advocate and answer your question.

Answer: Because three other teams that are really good made the Final Four also.

So Sherri's 0 for 3 in Final Fours in her attempt to get OU a championship. BFD. Rocky Top's gone empty-handed in 10 Final Fours. Almighty UConn? They left five of their Final Fours without a championship. Nemesissy Satanford? Seven Final Fours with no title to show for it.

So yes, I know this is a sarcastic thread and all, but it is a legit question and there's your legit answer - it's D@MN tough to win the title in basketball, mens or womens. There's just too many talented teams... especially UConn. Now we all know what other teams that had to go up against Wooden's UCLA teams felt like :(

I didn't know La Tech was such a women's power house. Then again I don't follow women's ball too close.

Mulkey played at and was and assistant on some of those LaTech teams under Leon Barmore winning titles in 1981 and 1982 as a player. Baylor hired her from LaTech, OSU hired Budke from there where he was Head Coach after Barmore.

LaTech had a good run under Barmore, he retired in 2002.
