I know many of you would have Oklahoma at 1-6 but here is what I think.

1. Texas 2005 (67 point win in CCG proves it)
2. Oklahoma 2000
3. Nebraska 1997
4. Oklahoma 2008 (Texas is probably the best non-conf. champion)
5. Texas 2009
6. Colorado 2001
7. Oklahoma 2004
8. Kansas State 2003
9. Nebraska 1999
10. Oklahoma 2007
11. Texas A&M 1998
12. Oklahoma 2002
13. Oklahoma 2006
14. Texas 1996

Not a bad list. I'd quibble with some of the bottom, say from #8 on down, but mostly minor rearranging. I just didn't think the '03 KSU team was quite that good, though they certainly trounced us. Maybe I'm still suffering from disbelief.

I hate to agree with your number one, but you make a very good case for them. They clobbered us by, what, 30 points? And then beat a VERY good USC team for the National Title.

I could also flop these with us as #1 and them as #2...I don't think Texas had to endure a run like we did in October, and close it out with a gimpy QB and beat a pretty good FSU team, totally dominating them on D.

Really a pretty good, fairly objective list.

I wouldn't rank Texas #1, because they also played the worst opponent. And Colorado 2001 shouldn't be that high either because they got really lucky to even win that game.

I'd rank us in 08 first, then Nebraska 97, then Texas in 05.

I think I'd have OU 2000 at #1. That was one impressive list of wins we had that season.

My only problem with the list is you have Texas on it 3 times?

maybe I am missing something by you saying that but they did win the XII three times (first was under the 1st Mack).

I, too, feel that Texas should not be on the list three times, let alone once.*

2003 OU was just as good as 2008 Texas.

You have 2002 Oklahoma way underrated. They'd beat 01 Colorado, 03 KSU, 99 Neb, 07 OU, 98 A&M, more times than not. Mike Stoops whiffed on a couple road games that year. But as evident in the Rose Bowl, that team could bring it.

1. Oklahoma 2000 -- Red October+extra win against K-State in Big 12 Title game and near shutout of best offense in the country in Orange Bowl to win NC.
2. Texas 2005 -- Easy regular season and CCG but great win over USC to win NC.
3. Nebraska 1997 -- Another National Champion, gotta be here.
4. Oklahoma 2008 -- Best Offense in NCAA History, fell just short of NC.
5. Oklahoma 2004 -- AD and JW, what a great year sans, well, you know.
6. Texas 2009 -- Benefited from a down year in college football, lost NC.
7. Oklahoma 2007 -- Beat No. 1 in CCG, should have made BCS Title Game.
8. Oklahoma 2002 -- Very underrated squad, as stated above.
9. Kansas State 2003 -- Defeated one of the greatest teams of all time...
10. Nebraska 1999 --Good squad, beat Tennessee in Orange Bowl
11. Colorado 2001 -- Got blistered by Oregon in Fiesta Bowl.
12. Oklahoma 2006 -- hampered by bad calls, injury to AD. PT though, tremendous job.

1. Oklahoma 2000 (When you can beat 3 Top 10 teams and 5 Top 20 teams you deserve this spot)
2. Texas 2005 (Yeah, the 67 point margin was good, but match them against the 2000 OU team, OU wins)
3. Nebraska 1997
4. Oklahoma 2004
5. Colorado 2001
9. Oklahoma 2008
7. Kansas State 2003
8. Nebraska 1999
9. Oklahoma 2007

WTF to all those putting 2001 Colorado over 2004 Oklahoma.

They lost to Fresno, they were blown out by Texas and Oregon.

REALLY?!?!?!?

Or were you just pulling numbers out of you arse?

That's a pretty stout list of champions when our 2002 team is ranked that low. If Everage doesn't shut his brain off in two different games they're undefeated and playing for the NC in the Fiesta Bowl.

Big XII Title Game...Texas needs to win to play Miami in the national title game. CU wins the rematch over a top 5 Texas squad, 39-37. Week before that they beat then #1 Nebraska, 62-36. 2004 OU was very good but not as good as the 2001 squad, imo. 2001 was a sick year for OU, CU, UT, NU who were all in the NC hunt late November.

They were average. Nebraska got pantsed in consecutive games. Colorado got pantsed by Oregon. They lost to Fresno. They got blown out by Texas.

2004 OU smokes that team. Not even close.

2004 OU smokes ALL of those 2001 teams you mention (OU, CU, UT, NU). Those teams all had glaring weaknesses. Even more so than the medicore D played by 04 OU, for some of that season. None of those teams could throw the ball anyway. Chris Simms lol!

The fact that Colorado used to win the north a lot is kind of funny, realizing how far they've fallen.

OU 2004 should be higher, at least higher than last years tejas. Probably right behind OU 2008. But I agree with your top 3.

Flip #1 and #2, and put #8 closer to #13. UT2005 smashed a pathetic Colorado team in Houston that backed into that game...so that was expected. OU2000 played a top ten KSU team in KC for the 2nd time that year.

As for KSU2003...They weren't that good of a team that year, and won the Big XII title only by defeating OU...which didn't even keep OU from making the championship game.
