I'm looking forward to this very much. It looks like Tecmo learned from their mistakes with Tecmo Bowl: Kickoff on the DS, and are not going to try to re-invent the wheel this time around.

I've still got a working SNES and Tecmo.

Me too! I grew up on it. Got a Sega with NBA Jam as well. Good stuff.

Well, my son has been playing Super Tecmo Bowl on the CPU now for the past year using the 2009 NFL Roster. Glad there's something we can play against each other now!

I really hated the game then, and probably wouldn't like it now.

The defense literally consisted of choosing which of the 4 possible offensive plays you wanted to defend. Raiders had 3 running plays with Bo Jackson, and if you picked the wrong one, Jackson scored nearly every time.

Also, in the original Tecmo Bowl, didn't Jackson only have one play dedicated to him? If I recall, there was the Marcus Allen run, the Jackson one, and two passes. Does that sound right?

He's talking about Tecmo Super Bowl. There were eight plays in that game, four runs and four passes. There was a sweep to Bo Jackson that you pretty much had to call on every play on defense, or you were asking to get scored on.
