Tom Wort apparently "were going at it" (As Urban would say) before the season and actually got in a fight but it was kept quiet by the staff and university. Source: Fellow Player.

He's practicing... the video is all over soonersports.com of him wearing #21 and he's one of their favorites. I'd say whatever it was probably wasn't a big deal.

A fight on the football field? Say it aint so! No, seriously, I wouldn't look too much into it. I'm sure the intensity is high for these young guys trying to show what they've got. Sometimes being aggressive isn't such a bad thing for our LB's. Although, a serious fight of hatred is something that shouldn't happen with family.... thats what a team should be.... a family.

look...if fights AREN'T happening, im more than worried. hell my 6yos were fighting EVERY practice last year. it's normal and it shows aggresion, pride, and passion.

now, if he was fighting with the kicker or a cheerleader, maybe im a little more concerned.

gaylordfan1
3/31/2010, 08:48 AM
Well, after watching the latest practices on soonersports he was always going against R. Lewis.... I sure hope this isn't the guy he is picking a fight with. If it his Ronnell, then Wort has balls!

Jello Biafra

ok you guys suck....

it was calmus and marshall. when Marshall first got here apparently calmus took offense to him coming in and trying to run the linebacker corps....they turned out to be a pretty good tandem no?

R. Lewis looks about the same as last year... size wise, not that he needed to bulk up any. Wort blew up though, looks like he hit it hard during the season and spring.

I remember Proctor Land having some issues with fighting in practice back in the 80s. He never cracked the starting lineup, though. So I'm not sure it really means anything.

it means one of the two in the fight give enough of a shiite that they take issue with something that is happening to them.

again, if you've never put a jock on (other than your head) you wouldn't know.

Had a buddy from HS who went to Tulsa to play football, the guy was my size coming out of HS 6'2'' 185lbish, after his freshman year he was 6'2'' 215lb if I remember correctly and was maxing out at 405lbs.

You missed your opportunity to post the obligatory "All I was able to do was make [insert lesser award]."

So if I apply the Reality Translator to your statement then we can assume that your bench press was closer to 170 lb, right?

I'm no Tom Wort or Jello Biafra, but I used to do sets of 5 at 320, and maxed at 360. I also outperformed TRRW the year he went to the NFL on the 225 max reps dealio. Beat him by 4 reps.

Now, what was the point of this stupid thread anyhow?

anywho....now that leroy has phucked yet ANOTHER thread (has anyone figured out how that turd got in the puchbowl anyway?)...bottom line is this, wort and _______ fighting is not a big deal and this time of year, it NEEEDS to be happening. period. if you aren't having fights, the players are too lax and not worried about their jobs.

Actually, the honor of thread jacking goes to you for posting a completely uncalled-for response to my mention of Proctor Land's fighting. Remember the following?
