Johnnie Gilbert?

I was thinking more like Gilbert Grape! :D

And Jello, I've just been really excited to get Tom Wort out on the field.... the kids a stud. I was totally depressed when he went down last year. And Ronnell.... well..... his hits speak for themselves. Sadly, he's prob. gonna hurt someone this year.

i agree totally...by years end, i think this will be one of the most feared lb corps in the nation. speed at all 3 (4) positions and hard hits...

if lewis hurts someone, i hope it isn't till after the season starts and make sure its the other team.

Count me in too, can't wait to see the hits these two are gonna deliver, I predict at least one broken bone and a bunch of knock-outs--Ronnell already had one last year at KU, that dude was out cold.

The video above didn't show it, but I thought I remembered a hit he gave a guy against Stanford, where the guy layed on the field for 2 or 3 mins after the hit??? Was my memory mistaken?

This is definitely the most excited I've been about our LB corp in a while. We've got some guys that can really light people up.

Gabbert???? We don't care about Booger's replacement! LOL

The guy looks like another Major Applewhite, one knock i've got against him...he's too scrawny for the position.
If he's gonna take hits and he will, he had better work on his build.

One hit from Wort and it's lights out Susie. :D

Or the Hammer, or Travis Lewis, or Q-Carter, Beal, McFarland, Hurst (and the list goes on). Heck, I heard that Rashod Favors likes to knock people into the week as well. Gees, this D is going to have a mean streak.

He's 6'4", 220 lbs. He's got a huge arm. Not like Applewhite physically at all. He is however developing the mental side of the game quickly.

Ah, I can't believe that unless the camera takes away about 50 or so lbs.
The dude looked like a string bean on the field against Bama, pretty lanky dude...pretty lanky.

I wish the guy the best, just not against us, or Colorado, or KState, or......

:D

ditto

Colt McCoy some how shrunk from 6'3 his freshman year, to 6'1 at the NFL combine

Herr Scholz
4/1/2010, 07:30 PM
Believe what you want. He's not stringy. He was 212 at the beginning of last year. He's a legit 6'4". His dad was an NFL QB. Comparisons to Major are simply wrong.

JLEW1818
4/1/2010, 07:31 PM
i heard he eats pieces of $hit for breakfast

gaylordfan1
4/1/2010, 07:32 PM
Wait, his dad was an NFL QB? Then he must be 6'4.

JLEW1818
4/1/2010, 07:33 PM
duh!!!!

Herr Scholz
4/1/2010, 07:35 PM
Like I said, believe what you want. Guess you didn't see him standing next to Colt.

JLEW1818
4/1/2010, 07:36 PM
we did, but Colts was really 6'1. but 6'3 according to horns

SO GILBERT REALLY MIGHT BE 7'4 AHHHHH

gaylordfan1
4/1/2010, 07:39 PM
-2 inches! Wow, I couldn't afford that at all!

Herr Scholz
4/1/2010, 07:40 PM
Yes, Colt was never 6'3". I'll grant you that. But Gilbert was clearly taller than him. And comparisons to Applewhite are just off.

yep, looks 7'4

give or take an inch

gaylordfan1
4/1/2010, 07:45 PM
Oh, he is standing in front of Colt... That would make anyone look taller.

Herr Scholz
4/1/2010, 07:48 PM
They're side by side in the suits. Looks pretty evident to me.

4/1/2010, 07:48 PM

As long as they play within the scheme, then they will be feared. If they get more fixated on ESpin highlights, then they will get burned and we will be toast.

i don't care if he's 6'4 or 5'4, i just hope he gets buried into the turf a dozen (or more )times come october. and of course that OU comes out on top.

gaylordfan1
4/2/2010, 01:36 PM
Well, if he gets buried even a half a dozen times I think our chances are pretty good. :D

HAHAHAHA.... that pic cracked me up! It's like "Oh My Godddddddd"... said in Big Gay Al voice.

I do gotta say though, I think Scholz's stat's aren't overly exaggerated by TX. I agree that he did look like a string bean on the field.... but if you add in his height, he prob. is around the 210-215 mark. 220 might be a stretch in the title game, BUTTTTT we haven't seen if he bulked at all during the last 2 months. So 220 is definitely reachable for a young kid that's just beginning to fill out. Of course, if you look at his stat's out of HS it varied quite a bit.... 190 (Scout), 195 (ESPN), 205 (Rivals).... but all had him at 6'4. 5 lbs either way isn't gonna make a hell of alot of difference though, so it's kind of a moot point.
