"After I signed the bill, I looked around to see if there were any asteroids falling, some cracks opening up in the earth," Obama said, adding it turned out to be a nice day and "birds were chirping, folks were strolling down the mall."

Well, I say go for it," Obama said, goading his critics.

Can the current president be anymore arrogant?

I am sure grandstanding and goading will help the current ****ed up state of affairs in Washington...instead of trying to close the gap...let's just make it wider

Enjoy your one term

What's funny about that is they can't decide if Bush II was just a dumb hick or a criminal mastermind. I have heard the same persons express those opinions more than once.

But this makes it all better. ...

"I regret saying some things I shouldn't have said, like 'Dead or Alive' and 'Bring 'em on.' My wife reminded me that, hey, as president of the United States be careful what you say."

In late 1988, Obama entered Harvard Law School. He was selected as an editor of the Harvard Law Review at the end of his first year,[35] and president of the journal in his second year. After graduating with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) magna cum laude from Harvard in 1991, he returned to Chicago.

Dude, say what you want about his politics, but Obama is smarter than about everyone on this board.

This is your retort...a former president who talked with some overzealous bravado to the ENEMY? The ENEMY...Not members of the U.S. Congress and Senate

Let's keep our eye on the prize here boys and girls...To brag about his "victory" in said manner...REALLY makes him look petty and immature!

I'm going to put this out there, and I would think it's pretty inarguable.

Anyone that knocks a person's intelligence, when that person was an editor of the HARVARD LAW REVIEW, graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law, and subsequently was a lecturer at CHICAGO LAW, is only indicting their own intellect.

It's OK to say our president is exceptionally intelligent. That's a good thing. Even if you hate his policies and maneuvering.

When you've done everything you can possibly do to indicate that you won't listen to a word the man says, why do you get so offended when he decides not to listen to you in return?

I watch/listen to every word the man says, because its my civic responsibilty. Which is quite a chore since my least favorite thing is to be told its raining while somebody pisses down my back.
Its true he does not listen, but right now my point is...would it be too much to ask for him to try to act presidental. Bush apologized for his cowboy bull****. You will never hear this arrogent prick apologize for anything.

It's easy to apologize when you don't have responsibility.

I'm not sure what you're aiming at here. "As if I know about anyway" about what? If you're going to take personal shots then explain yourself.

I'm in the software development business. Before that I ran a mold remediation business. Before that I was a sales manager. Before that I ran restaurants. The greatest challenge of any business I've worked with is hiring, and I've enjoyed some very expensive lessons. I can tell you with 100% confidence that intelligence is no predictor of whether or not someone is going to be good, even in a field that requires a very high level of intelligence.

Attitude is the most important factor. The first time I was responsible for hiring a programmer, I looked for the smartest guy I could find. I ended up hiring a propeller-head version of Dr. House. The guy was staggeringly brilliant, crazy GPA with honors from one of the top engineering schools. He was also an arrogant ******* that was impossible to manage and horrible to work with.

Experience runs second, depending on how technical the field is. Experienced people solve problems more quickly, and if you're hiring an expensive programmer, this is pretty important. If you're hiring a grunt to do mold remediation it still matter, but less.

Intelligence is third…sometimes second, but usually third. Intelligence is like horsepower. It's alluring and fun to brag about, but it don't mean **** unless it's properly applied.

As those three factors apply to Obama, he clearly has intelligence in spades. Unfortunately he's an arrogant man with no leadership experience who has become disappointment to many who held such high hopes for him. Read the more blatantly liberal blogs and news source; the disillusionment is setting in.

B)What ****ing world do you live in? Our president is the public face of our nation. We generally prefer they behave like an adult. Also, showing a little pride in what this nation has accomplished is kind of nice. To Obama, every problem around the world is our fault and we would quite being so selfish the world would be healed on sunshine would shoot out of the @ss of every dictator and cowardly terrorist around the globe.

My eyes are open. I don't like his policies and I don't like his actions. I love how any disagreement with this president is dismissed as some personal problem. Socialism is the new N word. That's my favorite.

You're right. It didn't matter. And Ahmadinejad made a parlor game out of tweaking W.'s nose. International relations isn't a game of who's the toughest guy in the room. It's a game of how much you can get away with before everyone wants to kick your ***, and then how much after that.

That would be one thing if the United States weren't capable of leveling the planet at any given moment. However, we still are. Teddy Roosevelt didn't just say "carry a big stick."
