Well, realistically I think us and Neb.... and for some reason I think they will have a slip up game. A loss that nobody can predict. I just don't think Mack can keep pulling these close games out of his butt with a win.

The next game against Tech, for the Sooners in 2008 had far greater meaning to me that the Tech game against the Horns the week or two before.....

i feel that this being a "Sooner Fan" message board, and a "Sooner Football" forum thats what is discussed here. If we were to discuss another team then it be the week or two before OU plays this "said" team in a game.

I for one would like to see a forum titled "other teams" or something along those lines to move all the non OU football talk out of the Sooner Football forum....

of course there could be such a place here and I am to blind to see it....

and no I dont think Bob gives Mack the time of day for the most part....

I think we'll get to 10. I could see losses to OU, @ Neb, @ KSU and @ Tech. I don't think we'll lose all 4 though. If we had 3 regular season losses, I think that would put us in a pretty winnable bowl game (Cotton or Alamo) which would make us 10-3 on the season. Definitely a rebuilding year for us in any case.

Just depends if your running game is as fast as that girl running away from Jlew.

Gilbert will be good, defense will be nasty, but I think it comes down to the running game and young playmakers at WR.

Texas has all the size, speed and ability to run the football out of a power I... they just haven't because Colt and Vince were so good at that spread, zone-read offense.

They also have plenty of speed and ability at the RB position, including one Tre Newton, who may be the first impressive whorn RB in a while if they ditch the Vince-Colt system and let him run more.

That all said completely off subject... WTG jlew and 10 wins for Tejas in 2010.

Ones I can see:

OU, Nebraska, and Tech. Those are three tough games in four weeks. Add in UCLA, and it could be four tough games in four weeks. Not saying you'll lose any of these (except the OU game ;)), but for sure these are your toughest games.

The best way I can put it...you're a young team, especially on offense. The farther you can go without losing any games, the better off you'll be. Start dropping the first two tough games, and the other two may also fall just because it's tough for younger teams to bounce back. Beat Tech and UCLA, and you may be on a roll.

I'll say you win ten games...but I'd be more confident to say you win nine games than you will eleven.

I think UCLA is a year away. I'm more concerned about the return game away in '11. They went 7-6 (3-6) last year. At one point they lost 5 straight. They struggled against Temple in their bowl game.

And aggy went 6-7 (3-5) with the 12th ranked scoring D in the conference last year. Dead. Last. No talent on that side of the ball nor in ST.

In OUr history, teams with a good defense and an offense in transition tend to do very well, better than the other way around. OUr 2008 group was the exception that proved the rule . . .

And since Greg Davis seems to have learned to run an offense that fits the players instead of making the players fit the offense, the drop off won't be very much if any. About all I am thinking now is getting back to the National Championship game is a reach but contending for the Big XII South is not.

But that really is not a bad thing. 95% of college football teams would be very happy with Chris Simms type performance/wins.

I think Gilbert will end up being a hair better than Simms.
