Some of the more modern ones (after 1970! lol) would have to be Sam Jackson, Travolta when he's "on", Walken, Harvey Keitel, Buscemi, Jeff Bridges, Patrick Stewart, Tim Roth, Ethan Hawke, Christian Slater, Robert Downey Jr., Benicio Del Torro, and a few others I'm sure I'm forgetting.

Steve McQueen
Christopher Walken
Sam Elliott
George Clooney
John Wayne

Sam Elliott certainly deserves a spot if for nothing more than his voice.

Yes sir, no matter if he's playing a hippie/biker/general/politician/cowboy, few can match the what he brings to a role.

I swear he should have won best actor even though he had limited screen time in the Big Lebowski. :D

Here is my list..

1. Pauly Shore
2. Martin Short
3. Shia Labeouf
4. Paul Walker
5. Vin Diesel

Wait a second, you said coolest, that was my list of the biggest fags actors.

1. Steve McQ-any other list without him at the top is INVALID.
2. Sam Jackson-DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH? Nuff said, one negative is he was Palpatines bitch....but he did kill a assload of snakes....on a plane so that is why he is at #2, well that and like me he loves himself a cheeseburger. :D
3. Sam Elliot-The guy could read stereo instructions and make it sound cool with his voice, solid actor, the best part of Ang Lee's "Hulk" and his cowboy roles are up there with John Wayne/Jimmy Stewart/Randolph Scott.
4. Morgan Freeman-maybe it's just me but almost every role he plays in seems like he's playing.....Morgan Freeman, it's working so why change anything?
5. Jack Nicholson-like Sam Elliot, old jack is a hollywood badass who ain't afraid to shack up with women old enough to be his grandaughter, yet teters on the edge of overacting in most of his roles.
A Few Good Men was incredible, As Good as it gets was as good as it gets, but he gets the cool factor for me when he played the Joker...how do you upstage Batman????? Jack did.

Can't go wrong with having Freeman narrate...

Ray Liotta is pretty cool. Hard to get cooler than Jack Nicholson. Christian Bale can pull off some suave roles but he sounds like a total limey when he speaks in real life (as does Daniel Day Lewis).

I have to add one more to my list too. Omar Sharif.

There's maybe 4-5 actors in the history of acting who are legitimately "cool."

1. Clint Eastwood. "go ahead, make my day" and "a man's got to know his limitations" and "this is a .44 magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and it could blow your head clean off, so you've got to ask a question: do I feel lucky? Well do ya punk?" and a hundred others = cooooooooooool.

2. Nobody else comes close.

He's the Road Warrior. It's not our fault if the only movies you have seen him act are romantic comedies.

The fact that Jim Garner hasn't made this list yet only serves to prove you're all idiots.

Idiots.

Go watch "The Great Escape" while you guys still have a chance to salvage your reputations.

Dude, the only time he acted in that series was the first one, otherwise he's just the same crazy mel he plays in the Lethal Weapon flicks. I also think part of being a cool actor is staying cool when the cameras go off.

3/26/2010, 08:30 PM
James Coburn -in Mag 7 and In like Flint
Redford
DeNiro - Gets even better with age

I don't pay attention to tabloids, so forgive me for asking: What uncool things has Mel done off camera?

Bogart!

If I could be one caracter from any movie it would be Rick Blaine.

And I would sell Paul Henreid to the Nazis and get on that plane with Ingrid Bergman.
