After compiling just 17 wins in his first 4 seasons at Zona while rebuilding the mess that Mackovik left, Mikey has now led his team to back to back bowl games and 8 win seasons.

This is a big year for Zona IMO, Mike needs to keep the momentum going and have no less than a 3rd straight 8 win season, hopefully he can win a few of those close games they lost last season

Here is their 2010 Schedule

@Toledo They were 5-7 last year, Zona needs to win this
Citadel Should be an easy Win
Iowa At home Zona should win this
Cal Always good but beatable at home
Oregon St Replacing their QB but still have Quiz Rodgers
@Wash St Should be a win, they are bad
Washington Tough game but at home
@Ucla They are getting better under Nueheisel but still beatable
@Stanford This will be a tough game, Harbaugh is a hell of a coach
USC Beat them on the road last year but they should be better
@Oregon Really tough game but Oregon doesnt have much at Qb now
Zona St They have been getting worse under Erickson and this is at home

Zona has to replace their Off and Def coord and alot of guys on D but I think with that sched that Zona should def win 8 games, possibly 9 in the regular season

Mike Stoops is a fine coach and will soon get a very good coaching job IMO...

Arizona largely benefited from easy non-conference schedules to get confidence built. It was the pesky Pac-10 that kept them from going bowling more his first few years.

Now that the Pac 10 has...

1- A diminished Arizona State
2- An overrated UCLA
3- A mouthy coach soon-to-put-program-on-probation-and/or-bowl ban-on USC
4- A miss-or-miss Cal
5- A just-lost-Heisman-contender Stanford
6- A crumbling Oregon
7- An upset-at-best Oregon State
8- An endless rebuilding mode Washington and
9- A rotten, rotten apple aggie Washington State,

Arizona might not just win 8 games. They might take the whole worthless Pac 10.

Hell, both Stoops got owned by Nebraska. No shame in it, Nebraska had a good team last year that should have won the Big 12 (stupid refs! stupid colt! stupid mack! STUPID EVERYTHING!). Just sad, cuz NP and I made the trip to Lincoln... which was, once again, like this:

Nebraska not only has the Blackshirts, they also have the Niceshirts, which will nice you into submission till you have absolutely no fight left in you whatsoever.

That's some funny stuff right there. We got beat by one turnover (cough PI) deep in our own territory. Zona got slapped around for four qtrs.

Really enjoy your posts over the years...thanks for the laugh. Gotta love the true rival and their fans!

They're not going to beat Iowa.

This is as good a year as any for Az to win the Pac 10. Before Petey leaving and Masoli being suspended, I would have said Oregon and USC were the teams to beat. Not anymore.

Mike has done a good job rebuilding Zona. I think he has a very good chance at taking the PAC-10 this year. I'll root for him anytime.

Except against my Sooners.

Just read this on ESPN. It makes me think that Arizona may have a difficult time next year. http://espn.go.com/blog/pac10/category/_/name/arizona-wildcats

"The Wildcats have to fill seven holes on defense, including all three linebacker spots and both defensive tackles. "
