mortgages, auto loans, and credit cards arent "necessary" in order to be a productive member of society...we are told our whole lives that we must go to college and get a degree so we can get a good job and unfortunately when I went to college my mother was a single parent and couldnt afford to pay for it so I had to use loans to go with my schollys.

So now ive done what I was supposed to and now my SL balance is more than my yearly income...also, I think the point is that if they are gonna bailout the criminal fat cats why not those of us who did the right thing

I wouldn't mind mine being paid off. By the time I finish med-school, I will owe about a quarter of a million dollars. Not looking forward to repaying that. But at least it shouldn't take me too long. I may just pay it off in a few years and live off the wife's money in the mean time. She could be my sugar momma. Her starting salary is going to be as much as my parents ever made combined while I was growing up. I think I can manage.

Well, I have the house paid off...4 cars too...if I can't get retroactive stimulus $$ on those...I'd settle for free college loans, er... grants; sending twins off in a couple years.
