Who has 2 better ones? Inhofe is a tad short on personality, but is rock-solid as a Senator. Coburn is a star!

Inhofe was years before his time in calling out global warming, er, Mike's Nature Trick for the fraud it is, that indeed that has to count for something.

And Coburn is perhaps the best Senator currently serving right now.

back when boren and inhofe were our senators, boren was known as the smartest man on the hill, inhofe, the dumbest. now we have inhofe, still dumb, and coburn, smart, but just wants to protect the status quo, which has made him a wealthy man.

tom coburn doesnt give a **** about you or me. he just cares about keeping health care the way it is, because its made him rich.

There are public records showing where Inhofe received over $800,000 from an oil company. There were other payments he received, but that was the biggest on public record. It may have been Exxon, but I can't remember which one for sure. It was in a 20-30 page article I read for a graduate class. It doesn't take a genius to know why Inhofe talks out against global warming. He gets paid big bucks to do it. He also said during winter that global warming was ridiculous because it has been snowing more than usual. He may want to learn about the science and theory behind it before he makes himself and his state look so "smart".

Most of us know the sordid story about Franken. Tell us about Klobuchar.

Klobuchar was Wellstone's replacement. Remember that fruitcake? Need to know any more?

I'll give this to Klobuchar, she ran promising to be a progressive activist just like Paul was, and she has succeeded. Her election was on the up-and-up, as Paul had traditionally represented that particular voting block. She's happy to take up any cause, global warming, gay marriage, all of which makes me want to gag. But also, she defends a little too lustily the "poor and downtrodden" in that she never met a welfare program she didn't like, often at the expense of her middle-class constituency.

I would never classify her as anything other than very liberal. And I believe she is sincere and there really aren't alterior motives with her.

But let's revisit Franken a second. He won running on being anti-Bush, and anti-Bush-cronie (which the Dems successfully painted Norm Coleman as, unfairly), and pro-"the little guy".

What we now know is he ran for one reason: revenge. He is a vengeful, bitter, angry, supremely arrogant, power-lusting man bent on destroying the Republican party. I think he blames conservative radio for the failure of his NPR program, for one thing.

All you need to know about him is the Lieberman incident. Like Joe's politics or not, Franken wouldn't "allow" a senior Senator to speak because of technical protocol, in defiance of traditional protocol.

That ladies and gentlemen, is Lenin-Trotsky communism. If they don't submit to our re-distribution of wealth (and assumption of power), shut them up. Permanently if necessary. I'm surprised Franken didn't pull out a Luger and put a bullet in him.

Anyone out there really want Franken defending the Constitution?

He is a dangerous communist SOB, and I am going to do all I can to get him out of office next go around.

Not that I know of, but who knows? What, you the great progressive liberal on the board would have a pre-meditated opinion of a person if they were born with that condition? You mean, by their physical appearance, you know how they think, what is in their heart, what is in their soul or lack thereof if they happen to be atheist?

How very.... enlightened.

In other news, the Franken election is well-known in Minnesota to be engorged with fraud.

First of all, illegal immigrant votes were widely accepted accross the metro area because of loopholes in Minnesota voting regulations that require, as the only burden of proof of eligibility to vote, merely proof of residence. Any utility bill will do. And those aren't checked for validity. The immigrant population in MN, illegal or otherwise, votes heavily DFL (the Democratic Party in MN- Democratic Farm and Labor). ...As you would expect, as we are one of the top 5 most heavily income-taxed states and one of the top 5 states in welfare distribution... even though our population is only north of Oklahoma's by maybe a million, if that.

Secondly there were some hundreds to low 1,000's of voting ballots that were photo-copied reproductions of presumably already counted ballots that were allowed to be counted toward Franken because they could not be matched up with their originals. A DFL dominated Supreme Court kind of went OJ trial on the bit: If the ballot don't match, you must count the scratch. And DFL dominated election boards/committees (merely by the fact this is a majority DFL state), weren't really motivated to look real hard for the matching ballots. It was surreptisiously blamed on "hard to read absentee ballots." And the Supreme Court ultimately refused to examine 1 by 1 documents that refuted counts, saying that was the domain of the election boards via Minnesota Constitution. Pretty neat, huh?

And while a few hundred to low 1000's doesn't seem like much... well, in a hotly contested election, it is. Originally Coleman had won by about 600 votes. In the end he lost by about 300. A thousand vote swing?... under the aforementioned conditions? B.S!

"So you get what we had here last week. He wants it, and he gets it! An' I don't like it any more 'n you men!"

Hanging chad (of original ballots) and "missing" ballot boxes (none ever verified as missing, mind you)

vs.

photocopied reproductions counted as originals.

I think the latter is more agregious. I don't think a photocopy should ever be counted. Period.

You're going down the path of "payback for what them damn Republicans did in Florida."

Ok, let's assume fraud in both cases. Does it make it right?

Funny thing is, I would not have been upset if Gore won. I am being totally honest, I swear. I became familiar with his politics while I was at Vanderbilt and I think he is a fair man, was a good Senator, and I would have preferred him over Billy and the Shrew.

What gets in my craw is that the MN Supreme Court did not take the high road. They decided to "get theirs" and bow to DFL whims in MN. And they did so without taking a really close look at Franken. Which, maybe shouldn't necessarily play a roll in their technical decision by the letter of the law, granted. But I really think Franken is bad news, and I really believe he is legislating from anger and vengance... not the right mindset for a Senator who supposedly, among others, represents... well... ME.

And if that's the case pre-Franken incident, then shame on him, too.

And actually, if he is now doing it post-Franken incident, double-shame on him.

We're supposed to be evolving in civility, not retarding. The British Parliament shout-downs of the early 1800's, especially preceding, during, and post- Jackson, we are supposed to have grown out of, I would've thought.

We need to flush the top levels of all three branches.

Term limits.

3 terms for Senators. 6 terms for Legislators. 1 24-year term for the Supreme Court Justices.

That allows for spanning Executive (and in the case of the SC, Legislative) terms and longevity where it merits.... yet forces the bums out and gets a new generation of ideas in.

There is a massive amount of information that passes through Congress, most of which is general legislative administration. Being in Congress is not all that different than other organizations in that the new guy gets to do their fair share of admin work, part of which is presiding in Senate president's chair and keeping an eye on the clock. Generally, people unfamiliar with a situation simply do what they were told, and Franken was told by Reid to be strict on the clock, and he did so. It has happened for years and will continue to happen as long as there are freshman Senators.
