View Full Version : New 'Theme' Song for the coming season

KantoSooner

What should our 'theme' song be for the coming season?

I nominate Robert Cray's 'The Forecast Calls for Pain', if for no other reason than the title. Plus it's blues and, short of reggae, there's nothing better than sitting in Memorial Stadium listening to the blues and watching OU beat the bejesus out of somebody.

I love Hans Zimmer's "Contender" theme.

The whole song doesn't work but the first thing that comes to mind for me is "Calm like a bomb", Rage Against The Machine

Cypress Hill 'Insane in the Membrane' for the first line... 'Who you tryin' to get crazy with ese? Don't you know I'm loco?'

With the exception of the racial terminology, references to drugs and alcohol and the 'watch that belly gettin' fatter... fat boy on a diet don't try it, I'll jack your *** like a looter in a riot' line, I think it's perfect.

Maybe we should commission a gay cowboy to sing a song about how being a Sooner means to us in our hearts, and how the red dirt rises from the ground and supports our tender souls. :stunned:

PHhhhhhh BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! :D

I shouldn't take credit for that - it was on a t-shirt (with a little Pistol Pete ragdoll) shortly after that awful song came out.

For those of you that haven't had the pleasure, here's the "Cowboys 4ever" song:

Note all the booing :D

Why don't we just play Boomer Sooner louder and more often?

Works for me.

Now, now, NP, I personally LIKE being reminded of Kevin Costner's varying Robin Hood accent by having the Pride play a song from a 1991 movie during a 2009 football halftime! ;)

Jello, I just thought I should let you know this, but each time you namecall or personally attack someone, another Chicago Bear will have a season-ending injury against the Packers.

I probably should have told you this before you posted... well, try to act surprised when Brian Urlacher goes down again ;)

I think someone did a video to POD's "Boom" a long time ago. Always thought that tune was too perfect for football highlights.

But I'd just as soon go with "F*** da Police!", or maybe "Suk It Juz Don Bite It!"...
