Sorry if this thread is already going, but does anybody have an update on if/what OU is doing about securing a reliable FG kicker for next season?

Is there any way Hartley can take paid "leave" from the Saints (maybe pursue Master's or something at OU ) and help the Sooners out on this? ho,ho

Hartley was 14 of 22 his first year......Should we have cut him and looked for a new kicker....

Paddy will stay and Bryce Easley will be the back-up

We need a kicker not a nose picker!

Exactly. And I remember a certain Alabama kicker becoming a first team AA. What was it they used to call him... Whiffin' Tiffin?

I think Paddy will fill the role nicely......

Remember, Paddy has played only one half of one season of organized football. He looks good for just having that. I am more concerned about getting KOs a little deeper. If Paddy, Easley, or Way can get the ball consistently to the end zone, then give them the job.

When then this thread should be titled, Kickoff Specialists???

I think we have more scholarship kickers than necessary now. Patches O'Hooligan will be fine for FGs and extra points.

Tress Way will continue being an awesome punter.

"Awww, all I got was" Jimmy Stevens will probably continue to be backups to both Tress and Patches, while handling kickoffs.

Didn't Stevens already quit?

Agree... game is a whole different story if half the kickoffs end up in the end zone.

Geez...give O'Hara a chance. The kid did amazing job under scrutiny for not having any experience. Move along ppl.

Wait... Stevens quit?

Where's Moreland? Why isn't anyone any better than him? KOs fielded at the 17 is the BIGGEST reason we succ'd on coverage in 2008. Better athletes helped in 2009 on coverage, but Banks still killed us.

He is still on the roster, unless you can provide a link can you please stop spreading rumors in nearly every thread you post in

I said I thought he quit didn't say that he quit for sure.

Agree with Colly - don't use the word "quit" next to a player's name unless it has been confirmed, even if you are also using the word "think."

This unwritten rule of common Sooner courtesy, of course, only applies to OU players. You can say Bible and Gilbert quit the whorns all you want! ;)

Matt Moreland, I totally forgot about him. I hope he improves over the offseason.
