Is Flordia as fast as Florida?

I have always been suspicious of their 40 times. Heck, didn't AD outrun Harvin in a 40-yard race in training camp?

The inflated times are part of an intimidation factor. We proved that OUr "slow" guys could run with them and everybody else followed suit in 2009.

exactly, thats why you never trust HS or college 40 times

Maybe if OUr OL could run 4.2's like everyone in Florida we could have not been pushed backward four times.

I loved how our 6' 5" - 6' 6"ish TE outran their supersonic running cornerback. Our poor players need loosen the load, too slow! ;)

its amazing how many high schoolers run sub 4.4 forties and how many dont at the combine and in the NFL. i guess guys get slower in college, what a strange phenomenom.

joe haden apparently runs faster in outdoor humidity then indoors, the wind in indianapolis mustve slowed him down

Adrian had a fast 40 time at the combine with the laser timer than harvin. I just want yall to know that roy finch is a florida state track champion in the 100 and 200 (i think he won the 200) in 4a which is the second largest class. We also got trey franks who won the state championship in his class in the state of texas. Not to metion kenny stills and brennen clay. we went and plucked the fastest kids out of the fastest states

When I was coaching in Texas, I had two 8th graders who SWORE they ran a hand-timed 4.6 in the 40 at some speed camp during the summer.

I tried to tell tehm the fastest men in the NFL run in the 4.3's....most run in the 4.4's and 4.5's. There was no way a child was .1 of a second behind grown men. They wouldn't hear of it and actually believed they could run it.

One was Daniel Palmer, who played for UTEP for a year or two. The other was Detron Lewis, starting WR for Texas Tech the past two years.

I'm waiting for them to get an invite to the combines next year (hopefully) so we can see once and for all who was right.

If they ran 4.6's as 8th graders, suuuurely they should be in the sub 4.2's as grown men. ;)
