2003 Oklahoma? 2005 Texas? 2008 Oklahoma?

08 OU, and it's not even close. That offense crushed defenses and made them cry.

14 points against UF was a bit deceiving, though. The poor performance in the red zone in that game was uncharacteristic to say the least, and easily could have been 28+. Still, they moved the ball okay against the best D I've seen in a long time.

Might have helped in that 14-point game to have our best running back out there.

DeMarco would have helped, but Chris was doing fine. I still shake my head at Kevin Wilson for that drive where we just ran all over them because we didn't waste time at the line; the ball was snapped very quickly. Then once we got inside the 10, all of the sudden it takes us 30 seconds to get the play in and snap the ball. Stuffed at the goal line for no points. Mind-boggling.

I've gotta go with the Invasion of Normandy...

2004 OU was better that 2003 OU

2 1000 yard rushers and a 4000 yard passer is just insane though, not to mention 5 60+ point games in a row in 2008

VY probably had the best individual season...

although, i don't really know much about the '97 Nebraska team. they probably rolled up a bunch of yards

I just wish KW would have called for a pass to Gresham. Just one. If it didn't work, go back to the ground, fine.

Ugh - why am I reliving this?? :D

'97 Huskers. And they weren't as good as the pre-Big 12 '95 Huskers.

4,000 yards rushing. None of that sissy-*** 'passing' everybody does now.

I disagree. I thought the '03 offense was more versatile whereas the '04 offense got bogged down at times trying to force it to Peterson.

PPG overall:
2003 - 43
2004 - 35

PPG in conference:
2003 - 52
2004 - 32

Wasn't the '08 season the most productive offense in college football history? Hard to argue with that.

2004 OU was more balanced and ran more clock

if Peterson isn't getting bogged down how much more time do aTm and OSU have to score on us?

JW has almost similar stats in '04 as he does in '03 but you also have Peterson rushing for 1900+

I guess we see what makes a good offense in a different way.

I suppose you could make the claim that the '03 defense was a lot better and provided the '04 offense with shorter fields.

Me? I'd take '71 over any of them.

that '03 defense and special teams scored a lot too :D

crap...I just realized this is the SO, lol. Here I was wondering what happened to my thread and never was in the football thread. Sheesh. If someone can come with a South Oval-ish copycat thread from this...mucho speks!

Anyways...

IF...the 2008 offense was in 2003 and the 2003 offense was in 2008...you think there might have been different results or the same?

Q plays another year or AD comes a year earlier, and 2003 would have been nuts

De'Mond Parker doesn't leave early before the '99 season and Q's redshirt remains intact.

IT'S ALL DE'MOND'S FAULT.

That was our battle cry every time we got stuffed on third and short in '03. Or when Kejuan would trip over a yard line with nothing but green in front of him.

so while all these '03 wounds are open anyone got any salt?

reading this thread is making my lunch not want to go down

03 was the toughest one for me to swallow, even more-so than the butt pasting or the 08 game

Why would we want to move a perfectly good thread over to the football board where the neanderthals will crap all over it?

To keep it SO, I think Bush did better in 03 than 04. And it's not even debatable...

NormanPride

Reggie or W?

I think the '04 line was better, but '03 had the better D and ST.

It's hard to argue with some of the Nebbish teams, though...

08. If you have Sam without a hand issue and a healthy DeMarco they were easily the best.

97 Nebraska, 03 Oklahoma, 06 Vince Young U, and 08 Oklahoma. And of course every offense OSU has had since Gundy's 2nd year.
