Agree 100%. In prelims especially, there is no reason for games not to draw. Same for NHL regular season games.

I can understand with regular season NHL games, I just personally felt that with the introduction of the overtime loss, that regulation wins should have been bumped to 3 points instead of 2.

as for that game the other night. To me, Sidney Crosby had no business taking a second penalty shot without the 15 players on the Canada bench who weren't the selected 3 having taken a penalty shot before he got a second attempt.

Yeah, Cindy taking that 2nd shot reminded me of Jonathan Towes and his 3 shootout goals against the US in the semis of the 2007 World Junior Hockey Championships.

I don't mind it in the NHL as much anymore. I just wish they'd have gone ahead and gone to a 3 (regulation win) 2 (overtime/shootout win) 1 (overtime loss) system. Unfortunately for us, the current point system works in the league's favor by keeping 80% of teams with a shot of reaching the playoffs until probably mid march.
