If you go straight thru there will be less truck traffic. Trucks have to take the loop.

Let me guess, those pics are from people busted at violating the HOV around the world...

Its a crap shoot. I-20 shouldn't be too bad you don't have to change at interchanges. I would avoid the 285 North, I don't know of 285 South is any better. If you get close to rush hour take the perimeter.
