Obviously our defense hasn't been great all season. Cade and Crock give it there all, all of the time.They play good at sometimes but then allow opponents to drive wide open on them at other times.

We are also a very streaky shooting team, well except for TMG.

That is why I'm proud of the effort OU's shown so far against Texas. We don't have Blake Griffin anymore, nor the late great Wayman Tisdale, and the chances of making the tourney this year are slim (but not none, thanks to the conference tourney), but we're out there working hard and playing for pride now.

i don't know if it's because he's injured (probably), but he's definitely letting TMG control the game...which is a good thing. willie can be a much better player when he's fully healthy with TMG controlling the point and letting willie come of screens and get open..IMO.

I skipped to the end of the thread - insults toward ou fans aside, they are really angry at the team for missing so many free throws. for awhile it looked like the refs were favoring us, but one of them said that they shot three more than us and we made more total than them :D

Kind of hard to watch my Horns right now. 10 of 27 from the line is pretty painful. We're 317th in the country in FT shooting. Pitiful. Don't know if you can really lay that at Barnes' feet though. Not to mention our inability to make a layup...

Coaches like Barnes are never going to have a season or two that will warrant firing, because the facilities, finances, fanbase, etc. etc. that Texas has ensures that they will not have too many crappy seasons ever, even if I was coach. four-star recruits would put up with me just to get the $100 handshakes.

As such, you will never be able to fire Barnes for not getting to more Final Fours, Mack for not getting more Big 12 trophies, etc. etc. You are a victim of your own moderate, but never excessive, success. It would look bad if you fired a 20-win-per-season basketball coach, or a 10-win-per-season football coach.

Thus, you are stuck with your moderately successful, but hardly-win-it-all programs. You guys need to be more like A&M in this regard. Demand better, even if people think your expectations are too high. But, since you don't we'll continue beating you when we shouldn't, like we did tonight and like we nearly did in football, despite all our injuries and lowered expectations.
