Interesting stuff. I'd be curious to know the stats for percent of 5 stars, 4 stars, 3 stars, etc that 'make it' as college players. You might be able to do it by all-conference selections?

REALLY? Damn...he must have sucked

92. Buck Burnette (http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/recruiting/tracker/player?recruitId=23958) (Wimberley, Texas/Wimberley)
Position: OG
College: Texas
Burnette appeared in 13 games as a redshirt freshman in 2007. He was dismissed from the team the following November after he posted derogatory comments about then-president elect Barack Obama on his Facebook page.

36. Adron Tennell, (Irving, Texas/Irving)
Position: WR
College: Oklahoma
Tennell never developed into the No. 1 option his talent suggested he would become. During his four years in Norman he totaled 505 receiving yards and five scores. Most of that came during his senior season, during which he posted 24 catches for 297 yards and four touchdowns.

I really wish he would have delivered what I thought he would...still seems like a great guy though and football is just a game!

HAHA so many Domers on the list!

111. Jermaine Gresham (Ardmore, Okla./Ardmore)
Position: TE
College: Oklahoma
One of the nation's premiere tight ends, Gresham posted 950 receiving yards and 14 of his 26 career touchdown catches as a junior in 2008. He was named an All-American for those efforts. Gresham missed all of the 2009 season with an injury, which prevented him from setting several receiving records -- including career touchdown catches -- at Oklahoma. Gresham, who finished his career with 1,629 career receiving yards, is projected as a first-round pick in April's draft.

He turned out to be a pretty good player :)

HAHA so many Domers on the list!

They set themselves up for failure and unmet expectations.

Many of these kids were vastly overrated simply because they were ND commits or leans. Then they fire their coaches because they have the "talent" to win but aren't winning.

where was Stafford's second choice?

Texas and Michigan, I think.

REALLY? Damn...he must have sucked

The comment he posted was interpreted by plenty to be not only incendiary, but a threat.

I love looking back at lists like these, especially if we have some successful members on it. Didn't realize Demarco was so highly rated. I thought he was sort of a diamond in the rough type deal. I guess it was the recruiting story or him dunking and Bob offering him even though he was there to recruit RReynolds or another player.

Murray was a great HS player.

He was a stud. I remember he was dropped from a RIVALS 5-star to a 4-star really late in the process, supposedly for some poor all-star game practices. Thought that was kind of silly.

Hell, he probably slacked off since he already knew where he was going and needed a break from hard practice between playing for one of the greatest HS programs in the country and the single most powerful college team in the history of the game.

Murray was a Rivals 5 star right up until like the final ranking, when he dropped to a 4 star.

edit...how did I miss that this had already been mentioned...

No problem, as the Jeffcoat thing showed we really like a good echo around here.

I didn't know he had a second choice.
