Yeah here's a bit I posted in that other thread (the Kevin Wilson thread)

A source also confirmed that OU quarterbacks coach Josh Heupel flew to St. Paul on Wednesday to interview for the offensive coordinator job at Minnesota. Heupel didn't reply to a text message. Heupel looked into the same job last year before Gophers coach Tim Brewster hired Jeff Fisch. Fisch resigned this week to work for Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks

This could really sting. I don't know that Josh is our next-in-line OC, nor if he's ready or not... but he'd done a great job with the QBs.

This. Losing Josh would suck.

Wow... so he would be coaching under former University of Texas assistant coach Tim Brewster... whose son plays at Texas.. and who was largely responsible for VY coming to Texas.

IIRC, the Tulsa World speculated Jay Norvell, as co-OC, would move up to OC if Wilson left. Not sure what that would mean for Heupel...and maybe that's why he's interested in being elsewhere.

It's like anything, I guess. If you're good at something, there's always somebody who's willing to give you more responsibility, more pay and more attention. Whether or not it's a good move for you personally is the unknown. Is it better to be the QB coach at OU or the OC at Minnesota? Or equivalent? I dunno.

Norvell has Offensive Coordinator experience ....

So are you saying that this school would not have any MNC's without these two people?

Minnesota... hmmm... and... what chances do you have at the BCS there?

Doesn't matter. If he wants to someday be an OC or HC at a BCS school, he has to rise up the ranks somewhere. He isn't going to be OC here as long as KW (the greatest OC ever) is here.

I hate myself when I do that. :D

That's a head scratcher of a move on the part of the Vikes. I'm sure they could get a proven Coordinator.

Yeah, but close to his old roots. If he is getting interviewed right now though the 50mph gusts, negative whatever degree weather, and blizzard like conditions might just be enough to remind him to stay in Norman. haha, damn it is cold out. Nights like these I wish i didn't have to let the dogs out to pee.

Sorry Lid, but when you get all uppity we point out your pure shame: in 2000, OU defeated the Longhorns 63-14. In 2003, OU defeated Texas 65-13. I still remember the cowed (haha!) look on you and yours as We strolled up on the Texas State Fair midway and knocked every Texas corny dog in the dirt.

You should never use the word "Sorry" to someone who has needed to use it multiple times over the last 5 years at the very least.

Good point though...to bad bevo turds can't absorb facts.
