Live and Let Die - Bond movie set in the deep South with blowing up speed boats in bayous. In this movie, stiff upper class Brit Roger Moore in a suit plays Bond and seems to fit right into the poor Southern culture, for some reason. Only in Hollywood. The movie does no justice to the great McCartney song.

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie - Moonbat, fascist-admiring Scottish spinster is a career instructor at a Scottish girls school where she has an inner crowd of girls she tries to brainwash and control until she is finally and thankfully betrayed by the one girl who is actually sane in the entire group. The girl who betrayed her is the only female in the whole movie with any sex appeal. Nice theme song, boring movie with lots of pale Scottish/English girls with no ankles.

Midnight Express - largely fictional account of American Billy Hayes who tries to smuggle drugs out of Turkey and is rightfully arrested, convicted, and placed in a hell hole of a prison where he is beaten, raped, tortured, and driven mad until he head butts a Turkish guard and escapes. Makes a hero out of a drug smuggler. Great synthesizer theme song, mediocre movie.

St. Elmo's Fire - stupid movie with a cast of 80's rat packers with marginal talent who are no longer working in Hollywood or play someone's grandparent. Inspiring song for a really bad movie.

More to come . . .
