Nothing really matters until you get to the playoffs. #1 or #2? #15 or #20? Who cares?

But it doesn't make any difference. This is why I don't watch the regular season of college basketball. It's pointless.

It's not entirely pointless. At least every team has a chance to get to the postseason.

it's like football though. if you aren't in one of the big conferences, your chances aren't near as good

and unless you are into the rivalries, it's not that exciting until you get to the conference tourneys

At least it's settled on the field. Win all your games and you're the national champion in college basketball.

or you can be .500 and still make it ;)

I blame the size of the tournament and its requirements for qualification for that, not the fact that it is a tournament and not just one game where the contestants are decided by voters and computer formulas.

so are yall saying there is a good chance we are not a top 65 team?

give me a prediction, we must win how many games to get a lock...? lets not even talk big 12 tourney yet

It's not about college basketball being boring. It's about not being much of a college basketball fan.

You have to be better than just top 65. There are a lot of automatic qualifiers from small conferences.

20 wins, 10-6 in conference, and a conference tournament win and you are a near-lock.

I don't think we're a tournament team at this point. Way too inconsistent on both sides of the ball.

Our two best wins are osu and mizzou, we really need to get a win or two against tex, kstate, baylor or A&m. We arent beating ku in Lawrence

TOP 65 doesn't matter. You need to be a top 30 team.

Yeah but our two best wins were our two last games. Hopefully this team is turning a corner and will continue to improve throughout the rest of the season. Tonights game at A&M will be a big test to see if this team has really improved.

I always think it is dumb when people say that an undefeated team needs to lose but in this case, this will only help Kentucky

man the NBA prospects on that team are incredible. john wall - number one overall pick. demarcus cousins - potential lottery pick. eric bledsoe - stock rising, potential lottery pick. i've heard patterson being talked about too but i don't see it so much with him. and daniel orton hasn't even developed yet, i'm sure he will have a chance to be a lottery pick.

It has potential, but there is absolutely no way you can even come close to knowing that after just part of one year.

Kevin Durant, DJ Augustin, Damion James, Dexter Pittman, and Justin Mason were all in the same class. Not saying that's the greatest class ever, but it's one of the best ones I can think of in recent years.

Felton, May, and McCants was a pretty good one, also.
