My niece found a 1979 Orange Bowl MVP Billy Sims
coin. It’s gold colored and about the size of a half dollar.
I think these coins were distributed by Sooner Illustrated
magazine. Does anyone know what the value of this
coin might be?
Thanks, in advance

About 5 cents. Tell your daughter I will take it off her hands for ten cents... because I'm so nice. Just ask Collier.

You should take it to Vegas and ask the Pawn Stars guys.

If you really are looking to sell it, I suggest the Sooner Swap forum. Tell people to PM you with a bid and if it sounds right for you, let a Sooner fan take it off your hands.

If you're just throwing it out there to see if it's worth something, my guess is that you aren't going to get more than $25 for it. eBay has some college coins on (that are either for specific games or for specific coaches) that go for about $10-$15. None of these are OU-specific, so that makes it automatically worth more :D

Ask Billy to sell it for you. He's good at selling his memorabilia. :D

He'll call in an "expert" and offer you half of what the guy says its worth.

So since it's obvious Billy Sims is fumbling the ball in this one, shouldn't it be the Nebraska MVP coin? ;) :D

That's JC Watts pitching the ball. It's the 1980 MVP coin.

Yep.

Guy doesn't even understand that it's a treasure to someone.

Running down Billy on a Sooner Board makes it even worse.

It was a bad joke.

Recognize it and show some restraint, it maybe even might help to show you aren't a complete doosh?

I like it. I'll buy it for a reasonable price if you're looking to sell it.
