1968 Bluebonnet Bowl | SMU 28, Oklahoma 27

OU led 20-6 entering the fourth but SMU quarterback Chuck Hixson led a comeback that produced a 28-21 lead. OU, without injured QB Bob Warmack, narrowed the margin to one on a pass from Mickey Ripley, but missed a two-point conversion for the lead. One last chance came after recovering an onside kick but a field goal attempt from inside the SMU 30-yard line went wide as time expired.

I know it's not OU trivia but what other team in Oklahoma besides Tulsa, OU and OSU has finished in the Top 25 at the end of the season?

1944 Norman NAS/Pre Flight... went 6-0 and finished 13th in the final AP poll, defeating Oklahoma, Arkansas, Oklahoma A&M (their only loss of season), Amarillo Field, Lubbock Field, and the Second Air Force out of Colorado... Only eight of the 20 teams in the final poll were not military based that year (Ohio State, USC, Michigan, Notre Dame, Duke, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, and Illinois.

Who was OU footballs 1st EVER opponent and what was the outcome?I have 35 books on OU football and depending on which one you believe the opposition was Oklahoma Cty High or OKC town team.Everyone does agree John A. Harts organized the first team in 1895.

Hasrts later wrote a letter to the OU President in 1942 thanking him for naming hm(Harts) as the founder of OU football.I have always wondered if he lived to see what Wilkinson accomplished in the '50's.
