Lovey Smith and...get ready for this--Bob Stoops were two names mentioned tonight on a Chattanooga radio station. Of course, I'm not buying it. I say they end up getting David Cutcliffe. In fact, supposedly they are already talking with him but negotiations have hit a snag--he wants to bring his entire staff from Duke and will stay put if his demands are not met.

Yea..I agree. I will grant that Tennessee is, arguably, a distant second(to Alabama) when it comes to heritage and tradition in southern football, but they are light years behind OU and they are delusional if they think that would be anywhere near a 'lateral move'. And when it comes to tradition, General Neyland couldn't carry Bud Wilkinson's jock strap....

Even as bad as we hate to hear it, the Sec winning something like 6 out of the last 7 NC's, shows they are just better than the rest of the conferences.

Sure, for the last seven years. Although I will say that the SEC has probably been the most consistently good conference in the country. But remember 1971, when OU and Nebraska took it to Bama an Auburn and the Big-8 finished 1,2,3 in the final polls?

The SEC has taken over this decade but it wasn't the best conference out there throughout the 70s-80s. Since 1970 The SEC has won 11 national titles and 5 of those in the 2000s. OU and Nebraska combined have won 9, Colorado won another. Dominating lead of the SEC over the Big 12 of one championship in 40 years.

As the days tick by since the shock and awe hit Rocky Top, I'm wondering who, if anybody, Tennessee will find this close to signing day.

It really is a shame for them, when they seem to have two really good coaches for the other major programs (mens and wimmens bball).

However, it is not a shame for us. Tennessee has been blatantly entering and exiting our state for our top recruits for years and if our home-and-home can't put an end to it, surely this will.
