I can kinda sympathize with the Vols...they thought they were getting a young coach who was born into football, someone who could really take their program back to their glory days, build a dynasty...and they really bought in, defended Lame when he ran his mouth, now they feel betrayed and PISSED, obviously. You can equate this to a meth junkie losing his best pusher. People at SEC schools view their programs as their vestal-virgin little sister. Anything that besmirches her or in any way diminishes her is grounds for an a$$-beating at the very least. At this very moment, there are Vol fans looking for the tallest, straightest poplar tree in Knox County. Not only are they looking to give Kiffin a hemp necktie, UT's AD, Mike Hamilton, is in danger of grave bodily harm for the act of hiring this blot on the honor of Tennessee Football. It is a distinct possibility that he will not survive the impending purge. There is already a movement to bring back Phattus as AD after unceremoniously kicking Hamilton to the curb.

Rest easy, there is zero chance Lane will be hired as the head coach at USC. He does not have the proven track record to take over that program.



Kiffin isn't going anywhere. The only ones talking are the ones on this site. USC in in trouble with the NCAA now. They are not going to bring Lane in with the NCAA already breathing down his neck. We best remember the trouble they are in is the time frame Lane was at USC, maybe a coincidence I don't know.


We will end up losing either CEO and CLT sooner or later (I think just too hard to keep), but Kiffin has put way too much work into the Vols to walk away anytime soon. If this was 3 to 5 years into his contract I would agree, but nah!
