So I will be heading out Friday morning on my first vacation in quite sometime. Going to the National Western Stock Show. Going to spend the weekend drinking and looking at Cattle. I'm very excited. I feel like I should kick off my trip with a large greasy breakfast from a chain joint. What would you folks recommend? We don't have Waffle House here so keep that in mind.

I only go to Perkins when drunk, I don't think I could handle one sober. To be fair it's a working vacation for me.

Go to the Brewery Bar while you're in denver
Order the Chili verde

There's actually a good little diner a couple blocks from Coors field. Can't remember the street it's on thought.

If you are going to be in downtown denver, you should eat breakfast at Snooze at least once. I love it. A lot. A REALLY lot. And don't under estimate cracker barrel for greasy white boy chain breakfast.

Brewey Bar is pretty good but not close to downtown. not sure where Brewery Bar II is (though i have been there). been to the one on Kalamath, south of downtown. good green chile.

the Pete's Kitchen locations are pretty deece greasy spoon breakfast early AM or late night in Denver (but aren't near downtown). there's a guy i'd have to point out in person who has rocking breakfast burritos on the 16th street mall (usually about 2 blocks west of 16th and california). chorizo, red chili and eggs. chicharone, bean, egg, and green chile. 1.50 each. 5 bucks will put you good.

i don't remember the stock show being downtown, ?.

as far as bars, i think My Brother's Bar on 15th and Platte is a nice bar off the LoDo area. good jalapeno burger and fries, nice Denver history there.

Chain restaurants can be nice, sorta like wearing a Snuggie when you are home alone.

But no place can whip up a decent breakfast better than one of those little diners with a neon sign in the window that says "Good Eats" or a variation thereof . . .

It's not downtown, but heck he wanted a good place to eat. I just wish I could remember what street that little dinner is on, it's right near where we pickup tamale's. Brewery Bar II is the one on Kalamath I think.
