in the AA game? Kid was pretty good for a 2 star. Thoughts?

He played a very solid game... expecting him to get picked up by a Div I school before signing day now!

Stars meaningless...although I am sure now they will boost him up to 4 or 5, and claim they knew all along.

Just shows how little the "experts" know. You and I can pick 5-stars, but the "pros" like Bob & Co. are the ones that can project how a kid will develop at the Div. 1 level. The gems are the Q's, Iggy's, Claytons, etc., etc., etc.

I'm sure Dartmouth is trying to sign another QB now.

Ya I trust Bob and Co.'s judgment when it comes to talent. The camps are where these kids get evaluated. When these kids come to campus and compete against other elite talent in camp, the coaches know who can play d1 and who can't.

Yep - they talked about him during the game that he was the one in the reality show.

Does anyone think these all-star games are indicative of talent? The kids practice for a week or so (in between go-karts and paintball) then put on a show. It doesn't really seem to show what they'll look like in a true team environment.

The biggest problem with the AA games is usually the o-line cooperation, with timing between QB and WR being next.

I think the most you learn is how does a player athletically compare to others of the same level.

Example - Ronnell Lewis was an animal in the HS AA game he played in. You could tell his speed and manimalosity was real.

I remember hearing how Stoops lost his mind recruiting an 8-man linebacker last winter.

Stoops is itching to unleash the "Beast" this fall!

Well put!
Can I use that in scrabble? :D
