But a league source said Carroll is interested in the job and is trying to persuade USC offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates to join him in Seattle -- as opposed to Bates pursuing the same position with the Chicago Bears.

Not going to happen. USC may be in turmoil soon... the NCAA is coming (finally) and with the recent overturn of Reggie Bush's appeal for private arbitration, the s*** is going to hit the fan.

I can see why Carroll may be thinking about abandoning ship... and the Seahawks are one of the few teams that can pay him a lot more.

Will be interesting in the next few days/weeks.

Outside of someone with USC ties, that job may be considered toxic by a lot of people. Allegedly, they're going to go after Mike Riley if Carroll leaves.

Leach INTENTIONALLY got himself fired so he could leave TTech without a buyout. He will be coaching SUC next year. Gets him closer to his alma mater (Pepperdine) and gives him a chance at recruiting. Close to the ocean (Pirates ya know). Probation won't matter to him cuz he hasn't gone to any major bowls in a while anyway. He can mine the fertile recruiting fields of SoCal for players who fit the Ninja offense.

Seems to me if the relationship with the AD is that contentious then he might be looking to leave before getting fired, after all we have seen what an administration with a vendetta can do in making a mountain out of a molehill.
