Now that we have finished the season I am in offseason mode and looking at NCAA stats.Below are the current bowl records of the top teams in D-1:

USC 32-16
Alabama 32-22-3 *
Penn State 27-13-2
Georgia 26-16-3
Oklahoma 25-17-1
Texas 25-22-2*
Tennessee 25-23
Nebraska 24-22
Florida State 22-14-2
Louisiana State 21-19-1
Auburn 20-13-2
Michigan 19-20-0
Ohio State 19-22
Florida 18-19-1
Notre Dame 14-15-0

I find it ironic that ND thinks they invented BIG TIME football and they have a losing bowl record. The * indicates teams who have not played Their bowl game yet.

USC has won how many of their bowl games in the Rose Bowl?

Texas has won how many of their bowl games in the state of Texas?

Alabama probably didn't have to travel very far.

The Penn State record is probably the most impressive.

Don't be sorry....I hated to even bring them up but I've been watching how their BS had to have the NCAA make rules about how you are to act on the football field. They pushed things so far up the whorns *** in the Cotton Bowl in 1990 that the NCAA made a tape to explain the new rules to them.

The Penn State record is probably the most impressive.

Texas played most of its bowls in Texas, 33 or so, either the Cotton (22), Sun (4), BlueBonnet (6) or Alamo (1) Bowls, playing teams that could not get into the Sugar, Orange and Rose Bowls. USC played in 33 Rose Bowls located in a stadium just miles from its campus. If we played in Stillwater, Tulsa and Oklahoma City and Norman, what would our record be?

Oh yes, and two of Texas' BCS wins were against 3 loss teams. We at least lost to undefeated USC, one loss LSU on its de facto home field, and Big East Champion West Virginia and undefeated Boise State.

The Penn State record is probably the most impressive. If I counted correctly USC is 22-9 in Rose Bowls,1-0 in something called the Tournament of Roses Classic game and 1-0 in the LA Christmas Festival game,1-0 in the Emerald Bowl. That would make them 25-9 in the state of California.

UT,If I counted correctly is 11-10-1 in the Cotton Bowl,3-2-1 in the Bluebonnet Bowl,1-0 in the Alamo Bowl. That would make UT 15-12-1 in the state of Texas.

That's freakin pathetic. Fewer bowl wins, fewer national championships, fewer heisman winners, fewer conference championships. How did Tejas NOT dominate the SWC?

As an aside, since the beginning of the 2000 season, both OU and UT have 110 wins. If UT wins Thursday, it will have 111, but one will be in teens, not the aughts, but it will count with the 2009 team. I think I heard that Boise State had 111 wins, so that one loss to them and one loss to Texas banged our gong. They had 18 losses in the aughts. We had 24 losses. They had two Big XII Championships, we had six. Except for that last comparison, they are the Big XII team of the 00s.

We effectively played on FSU's, LSU's and UF's home fields, as well. What would they have claimed if they played us in Tulsa? If we played them in Tulsa, what would there fans claim? They would laugh at us if we claimed to have no advantage, but nobody brings up their home field advantages.

Just wondering where OSU, the aggies not buckeyes, rank in bowl winning % now that they lost to Ole Miss. Anyone know? Anyone care? They used to brag they were tied for first; then it dropped a bit to maybe a 4th place tie before losing to the Rebels.

It does point to the fact that many schools owe their football idenrity to ONE coach,Fress Shoes U and P State among them. That is why I chose my particular signature,OU IS bigger than any one coach.

Dude, that is our Southern territory. Half of tejas is tejanos, a quarter northerners that have migrated, and half of the remainder true texans. The final fraction are transplanted Okies and their off-spring.
