Just thought I'd share, former OU backup QB Kieth Nichol will play Wide Receiver in tonight's Alamo Bowl.

I think it is more kind of a Kerry Meier-Todd Reesing thing. Two QBs of the same year for eligibility battling it out for the starting job, one beats the other, but the other is too athletic to leave off the field. You move the other to WR and see how it works. Worked for Kansas and I think Kerry Meier has a better chance to make a team then Todd Reesing, he was a very good possession receiver for them. I guess we will find out tonight.

It's more of a 14 guys are suspended/dismissed from the team, and they are out of receivers thing.

I bet he doesn't make a catch or any impact at all assuming he even gets in the game.

I heard a lot of talk about TT doing some tricks (protesting) in the parking Lot before the game...

Did they do the march from the Alamo to the stadium?

James is in his normal position, on the sideline with no pads on.

Nichol threw a nice block to spring a big gain. Good for him for getting some playing time.

Let him run the reverse pass like Derrick Shepard did against Nebraska back in 85 or whenever.

Leach sure made a dumb move telling a trainer to LOCK some kid up.

Mind numbingly stupid.

Final stats were:
1 rush for 7 yard TD
2 receptions for 11 yards
1 drop that would've been 3rd down conversion

I think others have mentioned he did a decent job blocking as well.

All in all not a bad showing for a guy who's supposed to be playing QB. I'm happy that he got to go to his home state school and contribute. He took a chance in coming out to Oklahoma to compete for starter, it didn't work out, but he made the best of it.

Does he have another year of eligibility?

He has two years left

I was most impressed with his blocking and the team mentality it takes to play out of position for the good of the team. Usually when someone leaves OU I'm pretty much of the opinion "screw 'em" but since he's showing character now I wish him well in this age of whiny pussies.

He has two years left in Europe

Fixed. ;)
