As bad as the field is, the hands on both teams have been worse. The announcers even said the tipped int for PSU was the best "catch" of the game.

the nightmare is the dang aged Citrus bowl in Orlando.
Dirt field, not well drained, and they had 4 HS championship games there in the past couple of weeks.
combine that with El Nino winter rains and it makes a muddy field.
Not so in Tampa or Jacksonville.
