What is OU going to do about this abysmal FG Kicking situation? This needs to be a Priority #1 Recruiting . What would OU's record have been if we had a consistent, long range kicker?

Folks, this ain't rocket science. Several lesser programs have very good, reliable kickers. With OU, anything outside the 12 yd line seems a challenge. This ain't right.

I don't care if it's male, female or android. We need a reliable kicker. This is totally unacceptable.

Does anybody have any insights on this? I know we need lots of help elsewhere--offensive line, receivers besides Broyles that can actually catch consistently, etc, but this one is really bothersome. It ain't going to go away either.

at this point id be happy with anyone that could be consistent from 40 and in.

O'Hara is a keeper.

O'Hara just needs more time. His issues are very correctible. Remember, he hasn't hasn't been playing that long.

Mentality plays a major role....not just capability. We need a confident and head strong kicker. Kinda like Nick Folk, the guy can kick it 50+ but he missed a few and it got to his head and so he started to miss more.

What happened to Bryce Easley? Will he get a shot?

So Jimmy Stevens?

yea, I thought that ship had sailed...I mean the guy was 11-13 when he was benched for the rest of the season and replaced by 7-15, not the best move IMHO

So Jimmy Stevens?

No. Extra points are inside of 40 yards too.

Kevin Cabello out of Putnam North High School (Same as Sammy B) Made two 53 yarders and only missed 1 extra-point (that was after the game winning touchdown against southmoore and the game was over but by rule we had to kick it)

Stevens is better than the last 2 we have had. Agreed we need to find a reliable kicker soon.

bryce beasley(sp) is a freshman from Norman North and has not played one snap. He kicked at least one 51 yd FG in high school.

With two kicking specialista s already on scholly(Way,Stevens) I don't see OUgiving schollies to any more kickers.I think Easily who redshirted this year will compete this spring and summer against Way,Stevens,O'hara,Moreland for the kicker spot.I would think that type of competion would produce at least one competent kicker.

Some would think! Damn, we have 5 kickers on the team and not ONE of them pulled through for us?

I'm convinced O'Hara is the real deal. He just joined the team late in the season. He's brand-new to football kicking. His demo video was incredible, and he handled the "on the field" pressure" pretty well in my estimation for a newbie to the game. Winter-spring-and summer workouts will seal the deal.

Was it San Diego that missed 3 FGs yesterday? They are probably asking the same question.

Easly had that illness early in the year (menegitis?, don't remember for sure). He never got back in to playing condition. He'll be our kicker for sure next year. Now let's get some O line!
