View Full Version : That darn Broyles

from ESPN:

Broyles also had 47 yards returning four punts. But he fumbled a punt that helped Stanford draw closer early in the fourth quarter.

Sometimes I wonder if these guys watch the games.

How about that Landry Jones?

How dare Broyles muff that punt just because some guys helmet is going through his face mask at the time.

I agree, Broyles was f'ing incredible. But LJ was outstanding as well!!

I was a little concerned about some of the play calling by the coaching staff.

I have a good feeling about next year!

Great to finally win a bowl game since the win over them damn dux!!

Boomer!!

Surely you didn't expect to get a fair slant from ESPN? ;)

It just proves the ESPN writer didn't watch the game. If you just look at the stat sheet, Broyles was charged with a muffed punt.

later in that article...

The Cardinal pulled to 31-27 on a 22-yard field goal by Nate Whitaker, capping a series that began when Broyles mishandled a punt. Oklahoma protested because Stanford's Johnson Bademosi hit Broyles just as the ball arrived, but officials gave possession to the Cardinal.

Shouldn't Broyles stat line read "Broyles had a players muff in his face while trying to field a punt" instead of Broyles muffing a punt?

There is NO plausible explanation that will ever suffice me on that bogus call.

How bout that Domique Franks?

That one got the biggest face palm from me tonight.

The BS punt call and the BS call on the allsome tiptoe catch by Broyles got the finger.

Ryan Broyles was a sight to see tonight, great performance.

the Stanford player's arms were blocked into and around Broyles as well. Thats why there was no penalty

I guess technically it was, because of the stupid call. I have yet to see a stat kept for "Blown Call."

On the muffed punt, the official blew two calls. If the playa got blocked into Broyles, why didn't they call block in the back?

Future's looking bright with Broyles and Landry back.

And some monsters on defense.

Oh and don't forget about that #24 guy. He is looking promising as well. It's Miller time!

Miller had some key receptions, especially on that last drive to eat clock.

I didn't see Caleb out there as often... TIVO'd the game and watched quickly to catch up after the kids went to bed so they wouldn't see their father out of his mind in front of the TV.

LOL, I didn't catch the Morris one. You would think CBS could.... oh nevermind.

[Quote] Bob Stoops to ref 3 or plays after Broyles got jobbed "You guys Stink, you know that!" Clear as a bell. LOL It like it came straight out of the Beavers mouth(as in Cleaver).

I'm just glad he was still letting them have it.

I loved that line by Stoops. "You guys stink..." has so much more class than a bunch of profanity. Clear and to the point. :)

At times I was wondering why Harbaugh wasn't wearing a striped shirt. He was making all the calls for the officials anyway.
