There were 4 former Stoops assistants that were head coaches. And 2 of those just recently had the best seasons in school history. Now there's only 1.

If someone told you a year ago that Leach and Mangino would be fired a year from now what would you have thought?

I think that if Leach is canned, it won't be long until he is an Head Coach again.

Leach has already been canned. It just recently came across, I think within the last hour. Now Craig James can say he's wrecked two football programs!

Nobody would have believed such a scenario.....if anything I would have thought Mike Stoops was on the thinnest ice.

Of course, any ice under Mangino wouldn't have to be very thin to be precarious ;)

I wish them well in the future, unless they're playing the Sooners.

Lessee...Chuck Long. Mike Stoops. Bo Pelini. Kevin Sumlin. Mark Mangino. Mike Leach. That's six...though I guess Long wasn't coaching at that point, was he?

I think Long counts for our purposes. Fired November 23rd of last year. Three out of six.

hey we could always rehire leach as OC and put wilson back to coaching the line...

I don't count Bo Pelini, he was only here half a year and he wasn't really good for our staff. We looked almost like 2 different defenses that didn't fit together. Forgot about Sumlin, so it's 2 former Stoops assistants.
