I'm sure the rockets are going to pay it regardless. Just want to get something in return before the trade deadline. The word is if they can't find a trade they will just buy it out.

Well the Rockets only pay it if they don't trade him. Problem with the NBA is that any trade is one that has to be dollars for dollars. That's why there generally isn't a whole lot of activity during the season, nobody's going to trade a star for McGrady unless they're also damaged goods, and any sort of package is going to include mostly throwaway contracts.
