That's interesting considering how many here said they wouldn't go and some of the posts that have been made.

Stanford fans are hoping to become like the fans of every other Bowl opponent we've had in the last several year. They want to witness their team beat OU and earn 'the greatest victory in school history'.

I just hope we can deny them of that pleasure this year...

That's the motivation for a few of the teams that Oklahoma has played in bowls as of late, yeah, but this would be far from their greatest win, no matter the margin of victory.

yeah, that 2007 win at the Coliseum was the one everyone will be talking about for a while. not to mention the blowout there this year

Damn, I was thinkin about driving out from Tucson, in hopes of getting a cheap ticket. Does anyone think it will be worth the drive? Do you think I will be able to find a reasonable ticket?

Nope. It's been a while, but Stanford has victories in the Rose Bowl. And with a Heisman QB at the helm no less.

Oklahoma fans will travel, regardless of where the game is played, period. I've heard El Paso is actually very safe compared with its not-safe counterpart south of the border. Being home to a lot of federal law enforcement HQ's helps keep people in line, methinks.

I'll be there, 25 yard line, 30 rows up. I'll be the 24 year old punk picking a fight with some Stanford grandma. Just a sneak peak of a conversation "look lady, I don't care if he is your grandson, he looks like a homo plain and simple".

Ah, the attraction of Adam Archuleta at half-time is a powerful thing!

Large population (~80%) of Latinos.

Interesting piece about El Paso specifically, and similar cities generally (http://reason.com/archives/2009/07/06/the-el-paso-miracle).
