I was at a store today that sold pogs of all things. I thought I somehow got lost back in 1996.

Does anyone else remember pogs or playing pogs? I was into it for awhile back in the day, but I hadn't thought about it in years.

My son had hundreds of them. Dont know what happened to to them. they used to be all over the house

I think I just creamed my pants!!!!! POGS were IT back in 4th-6th grade years!!! I had POGS ranging from Michael Jordan, Apollo 13, Mountain Dew/Pepsi, Peace signs, Yin and Yang signs, etc. I have over 400 POGS and around 10 slammers. Ahhhhh those were the days, going to the roller skating rink collecting Playboy bunny stickers and being in the crowded store or mall getting hands on POGS....still play with them from time-to-time.

Lord, my boys had a drawer full of those things. I came across some of them just a few weeks ago, including one of their favorite slammers - a heavy brass coffin-shaped one with some holographic-type insert. Maybe I oughtta dig them back out of whatever box I threw them into; I bet the boys would love to see them again.

Gee, thanks for giving me one more thing to do today. :eek:

I used to sell them to little kids. They would eat them and later I would turn the microchip I had inside them on. The good ones turned into SooneFans....the rejected/retarded ones I we had to round up. We turned them all loose South of the Red River. Of course we had to have some SoonerFans go with them to stroke their egos. It keeps them in check. We thought everything was going well until that damn Vince Young came around. We weren't prepared for someone as dumb as him and it threw things into a tizzy. It's under control now. I think Bama will be pleasantly surprised soon.

i remember hearing about them in Hawai'i before they got big here.

Man I used to love me some pogs! I had so many and my dear sweet mother used to hate when I would pull em out after mass! You know it is a sort of gambling...WE PLAY FOR KEEPSIES! I had a Poison slammer and Playboy slammer and they both had finger slots in them for that extra punch. When I started cheating and you can cheat at Pogs, I figured it was time to hang it up.

I bet I can find em if anyone wants to play at next years tailgates? I'll be ya huckleberry!

Did this get deleted earlier? Because, I could swear I posted on this thread before I left to finish shopping.
