But this really pisses me off. How to buy a vote

Officials said the federal government would pick up Nebraska's entire cost of a Medicaid expansion in the bill. Other states will have to begin picking up a portion of the added expanse beginning in 2017.

You'd probably be better served just heading up to Capitol Hill and find them all one at a time and just take a video of you kicking them in the junk and heading to the ER to have their testicles re-attached under the Senate Healthcare plan.

I am still waiting for Coburn to come through to put an end to this. I have heard that there are two on-edge senators that are ready to crack... one from Arkansas, one from Louisiana. Both are worried about the 2010 elections and their prospective opponents have already sank their teeth into this health bill.

The fact of the matter is that most Senators are too afraid of losing their positions... and a few of the 60 "yes" voters have to worry about next year's midterm midtacular.

But... they may also cave to the prospect of getting pork for the economically stricken states. That means it comes down to Coburn once again pulling an ace outta his sleeve. I don't know what it will be, but my guess is that it involves forcing the Senate to give up Christmas with their families.

sounds like some bribes were thrown in even for people who voted no based on what some of these 'provisions' were.

This **** makes me ill. God damn the democratic party.

Merry Christmas. Enjoy your Senate endorsed ***-****ing.

The democrat party is bad but they are both basically the same. They both go by whoever is paying their pockets. They don't give a damn about the American people.

Very true but there's only one side that has always wanted to nationalize health care. It's a grubby power play if there ever was one.

One interesting thing I heard. When FDRs social security was implemented and when LBJs great society was implemented both were done so in a truly bipartisan way. There's growing speculation that this new legislation is doomed.

Interesting quotes from an msn.com article about the Senate passing the bill today:

"This morning isn't the end of the process, it's merely the beginning. We'll continue to build on this success to improve our health system even more," Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said before the vote. "But that process cannot begin unless we start today ... there may not be a next time."

House Minority Leader John Boehner assailed the bill moments after passage.

"Not even Ebenezer Scrooge himself could devise a scheme as cruel and greedy as Democrats' government takeover of health care," the Ohio Republican said in a statement.

"Senator Reid's health care bill increases premiums for families and small businesses, raises taxes during a recession, cuts seniors' Medicare benefits, adds to our skyrocketing debt, and puts bureaucrats in charge of decisions that should be made by patients and doctors," he said. "The bill also authorizes taxpayer-funded abortions, violating long-standing federal policy. It's no coincidence that the more the American people learn about this monstrosity, the more they oppose it."

I'm personally hoping that Harry Reid dies of a stroke during the 'holiday break'.

The best thing that could happen to this government would be for the beginning of the Tom Clancy novel that resulted in Jack Ryan becoming President to happen in reality.

I'd also like to find a lawyer with enough balls to sue every member of Congress that doesn't opt into forced government health care for breach of contract or somesuch.

Does anyone else ever wonder what our founding fathers would think of today's government?
