I love the moodiness of a good well stocked bar with colorful lights adding a touch of cheer...

NYC is fun pretty much anytime. Never had a bad experience there.

What is the name of that bar?

C'mon now, that could be a bar anywhere. They're like casinos. Why go all the way to Vegas? When you sit at the blackjack table it doesn't matter if you're in Vegas, Foxwoods, Monte Carlo, or at Shawnee Firelake. Other than the POS .50 ante the indian joints charge.

Anyhow, show us something New York if you're gonna start a thread with that title. That place looks almost identical to a place I frequent in Alexandria, VA.

Bar 82, or it could be Bar 81 down in the E Vill.

I know it was either 81 or 82, then new owners took it over and changed it to the other number.

FWIW , I'd rather be in a bar than outside with the masses (ala slack-jawed gawker rubes :D ) where I'd be trying to get to some advantageous photo position at Rock Ctr. or Times Sq...

I'd like to see that big ole Tree in Rockefeller go up in flames after Christmas. I bet that would bring the drunks out of the bars.

It looks a lot like a place called O'Reilly's on 31st or 32nd (and 100 other bars in NYC I'm sure)

I used to do a lot of work in NYC and that was my favorite place to have a beer and a meal after work.

It's tough to beat Manhattan in terms of a night out for a few drinks...

I like the photo. It could be anywhere. I've been to a snowy bar in Iowa that looked much like that in mid-December.

Christmas lights just make everything neato.

Run:

It was December 24th on Hollis Ave in the dark
When I seen a man chilling with his dog in the park
I approached very slowly with my heart full of fear
Looked at his dog, oh my God, an ill reindeer
But then I was illin because the man had a beard
And a bag full of goodies, 12 o'clock had neared
So I turned my head a second and the man had gone
But he left his driver's wallet smack dead on the lawn
I picket the wallet up then I took a pause
Took out the license and it cold said "Santa Claus"
A million dollars in it, cold hundreds of G's
Enough to buy a boat and matching car with ease
But I'd never steal from Santa, cause that ain't right
So I'm going home to mail it back to him that night
But when I got home I bugged, cause under the tree
Was a letter from Santa and all the dough was for me

D.M.C. :

It's Christmas time in Hollis Queens
Mom's cooking chicken and collard greens
Rice and stuffing, macaroni and cheese
And Santa put gifts under Christmas trees
Decorate the house with lights at night
Snow's on the ground, snow white so bright
In the fireplace is the yule log
Beneath the mistle toe as we drink egg nog
The rhymes you hear are the rhymes of Darryl's
But each and every year we bust Chrsitmas carrols
(Christmas melodies)

Run-D.M.C. :

Rhymes so loud and prod you hear it
It's Christmas time and we got the spirit
Jack Frost chillin, the orchas out?
And that's what Christmas is all about
The time is now, the place is here
And the whole wide world is filled with cheer

D.M.C. :

My name's D.M.C. with the mic in my hand
And I'm chilling and coolin just like a snowman
So open your eyes, lend us an ear
We want to say

I remember the first time I heard that song was in Die Hard, when Officer John McClane was riding in the Limo. I never knew that was Run DMC...
