View Full Version : Looking for a long-lost friend, graduate of U. of Oklahoma

I have been searching for an old friend of mine who graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1976.

We were classmates and close friends at Wayne State University's Junior Year in Munich program in 1974-75. I have not heard from him since the mid-seventies and fear that he no longer among the living...

I live in Massachusetts and have never been to Oklahoma. I was wondering if someone with access to a directory of University of Oklahoma alumni could tell me there is an address in it for Thomas Diggs '76.

thanks in advance!

I'll bump this to keep it alive, but I have no connections that would be of use...

Only if you were born at OU's commencement.

Were you?

I think something like 200 million folk do Facebook, and I would count as one of the responsible and normal ones so go put your nose in the corner

Thanks for the suggestions. I am extremely active on Facebook and I'm something of an early adopter with respect the internet, in general. I found someone in Oklahoma City by the name of Thomas Diggs about 10 years ago but it's not the same guy. Most universities have alumni directories (nowadays often online but generally password-protected). If I were anywhere near the university I would stop by the library and do the research there.

have you tried the Alumni Directory?

http://www.ou.edu/alumni/home/alumni_directory.html

i don't think they can/will give you his address if you call, but if he's registered in the directory, you should be able to see his info

Collier11

you might give the University a call

Here is the website for the OU alumni

this looks promising. I think he might be Thomas M. Diggs in Nichols Hills. The age is right.

I can't access that Database without pretending (at least) to be an Alum (I mean, I suppose I could try to fake it and get an account, but really... :-) ).

I was hoping some Alum (who might very well be a Sooners fan) could access that listing and at least tell me if he's still alive. :-)

oh, i guess i assumed you were an alum

I found three all born in 1954, which would be about the right age. One's birthday is May 11, one is May 5, one is April 30. Two in Texas - Dallas and Houston - and one in Cleveland, Ohio. If you remember his birthday and think one of those might be him, PM me and I'll send you the address.
And you better by god not be a hitman.

It's not really a hill...it's really more of a place where natty cans go to die.

I realized from the beginning that I could be a bill collector or mafia hit man or something looking for someone in the witness protection program, so actually all I was hoping for was confirmation that he is not listed as "deceased" in the alumni records.

In any case, I think I've got an address I can send a Christmas card to.

The amazing thing to me is that this thread already shows up in Google if I search for "Tom Diggs Nichols Hills" - maybe some day he will google himself and see that I am looking for him!

Why didn't you just say so in the first place.
