Next to never. Sometimes I will do it a day or two before I go to the dentist. I know I am supposed to daily or at least a couple of times a week but don't. BTW, I have great teeth.

At least after eating popcorn.

Floss kills your lungs too, Chuck. The wax releases deadly lung-death vapors that will eat holes in your chest.

Only the butter-flavoured floss.

Yeah. I know I spelled it that way. I'm uppity.

After every meal. I keep it in my briefcase, I take it hunting with me, I have some in my desk drawer, I have some in all of my vehicles, I keep some in my travel bag.

I brush in the morning, and before bed every night. I've been doing this for about 6 years now.

Since I've started taking care of the teef, the only dental work I've had done is replacing old fillings. Before that, every damn time I went to the dentist it was a couple fillings here, a couple fillings there. I've had maybe 3 root canals and have a couple crowns.

I'm tired of shelling out $1700 for a root canal, or even a couple hun on fillings. Now I get my free cleaning/xrays/check up, they give a whole bag of floss, tootbrushes and crap and it's all good.

My dentist told me..."Floss only the ones you want to keep."

Once a day. I brush mornings and night, and rinse with Listerine both times. I've always been a maniac about my teeth, but I couldn't believe how much things improved when I went to rinsing twice a day instead of just once.

I only use Listerine about twice a week.

Not EVERY day, but most days. I'm lucky to have genetically healthy teeth, I can't remember the last time I had a cavity. When my dad joined the military out of high school, it was his first trip to the dentist (Oklahoma dirt farmers) and he had 1 cavity. I really think there must be some sort of DNA component, because I have way healthier teeth than I probably should.

Probably has to do with the pH in your mouth and how good an environment it is for bacteria...

And I floss less often than I should, but I use one of those Sonicare toothbrushes and mouthwash twice a day (either Listerine or that ACT restoring stuff). Good results since I started all that.

Once or twice a day and always before bed. Finish it off with a shot of mouthwarsh.

Hey you, guy with the funky breath, yeah you. You don't floss.

I used to go with Listerine just before bed but now I use bourbon. It's basiclly got the same stuff in it 'cept bourbon is 83 months older. I figure that makes it 83 x's better to use. Plus, keeping bourbon in the medicine cabinet is a lot safer in case you get the late night or early morning DT's. Listerine is not too good for ya if you drink a lot of it. Probably ok if you take just a sip now and then. I floss daily.

Heh, I always thought that a Listerine bottle would be a perfect way to sneak booze into the dorms in college. There's really no way one could say it isn't mouthwash.

Me too, as far as genetically healthy teeth and mouth. When I was 15 the orthodonist said I had "healthy saliva." Whatever that means. I don't know how they know just by looking in your mouth.

When I'm being good it is floss, brush, then generic Listerine.

I wonder if it is more important to floss or brush? I suspect flossing because there isn't anything to get rid of the bacteria between your teeth where it seems like bacteria would an "friendly" enviornment to thrive.

By the way, if you bleed when you floss you have infected gums. Dental bacteria is a risk factor for heart disease such as the type Brad Edwards and Lewis Gizzard died from (infection of the lining of the heart I believe).

This thread has made me decide to use listerine daily instead of a couple of times a week and I am going to make an effort to floss at least once a week.

Years ago I almost never flossed. It was really painful and my gums bled a lot. (I also had a brother who got a heart infection. He's fine now but only later did I find out that the odds were really against him.)

The dentist finally scared me into flossing. The last few years I've tried to floss every day but probably do it about 50% of the days. After some really good cleaning an flossing it doesn't hurt or bleed.

My problem is the Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper. I'm an absolute addict and they're horrible for my teeth. I feel like telling the dentist to kiss my a** and be happy I'm not addicted to crystal meth or something.
