It was a suspect call, but the idiot that made the video doesn't take a lot into account. He brings up the 3 seconds before the flag is thrown. Maybe the ref struggled to get the flag out for a sec. I have seen flags thrown later than that. Of course, it was probably thrown by a big 12 ref. :D
He brings up the "wrong" judge threw the flag. Well, maybe he thought he saw something while the ball was in the air from his angle which the main CU angle showed nothing really. I don't like weak calls deciding a game, but it could not have happened to a more worthy team. **** thUg U.

If scUM had deserved that title, they would have been able to score from the 2 yard line!

People bitch about who made the call and how late it was, but they fail to note that the DB was all over the receiver. Best call evar! :D

It's easy to bitch about a call when it would have ended the game for you. A No-call would have had bucknut fans posting videos for a decade.

I bitched about the call about a time clock call in the Big XII CG. +exas got a shot to win it. The guy nailed the kick and the BCS pushed +exas into the MNC with Bama. They have been given a gift in playing Bama...

I hope that game is decided in the 1st qtr and not like the one JLew posted above. I might throw up if it did.

Is it true a Big XII Basketball Ref makes 1,500 per game?

I heard that the other day.

Shows that shat happens to other teams too.

From the 50,000' view, Miami had twice the team of tOSU that year and should not have let it come down the final play of regulation. Easily the biggest title game upset of the BCS era.

If you are referencing this year - the horns winning would not be nearly the same level of upset as tOSU over Miami.

Yep, that guy that just threw it. The summer before he threw that flag I spent some time working in a high school baseball press box with him. We talked about him being a Big XII official, but I didn't realize he was reffing that game...until I saw him make that call.

I wish I would've worked with him the following summer. I would've bought him lunch.

if I remeber correctly he is the same ref when OU played Tech in 2005 at Lubbock and was the replay official that made the calls at the end of the game in favor of Tech.....

TopDawg

The ref on the field doesn't make the calls at the end of the game. The replay official in the booth tells him what the replay showed. That's the main way it's different from NFL where the head official makes the replay determination via the on-field monitor.
