My best friend is a UT fan. He wants me to go to the game with him in Pasadena. He will pay for the ticket (40 yd line, $500 ticket). It is a players ticket, not that means anything. He is going to pay for the ticket, rent-car, and any incidentals. I have to come up with the plane ticket ($360). I need some sane advice. Should I go??

Do you want to go? Can you afford it?

What else is there to consider?

Money is not prob. I would feel dirty for some reason, hence me asking SF.

Uh-huh! There it is. Rolling in the pig **** with the UT-pigs.

Seems to me a key question is: Will you be cheering for TX? If you cheer on Bama from those players' seats, good on you. I say you can attend in good consciense.

If you have to cheer for TX....

If he is ok with you cheering Bama......GO. If not, say thanks but I refuse to sell my soul to attend a MNC game.

Personally.....I went to the MNC game last year and if your team doesn't win, its not that great. But if Texas wins, it would be puke inducing.

Surely, he must know that you're not a Whorn fan? Therefore go, and cheer for Bama! If you don't, I will!!

Go, what a opportunity.

I was invite to the same stadium one year. UCLA was playing Big 12 buffalos. Being a Big 12 fan (except tx) I was for the Buffs to win but was polite
and acted like a UCLA fan. Really easy pretending to be a UCLA fan. All you do it sit there, once in a while a cheer U C L A and text some on the phone.

But go, root for TX but underneath hope they lose BIG TIME!!

If I was in your shoes and the money is there for the plane ticket....

I'd explain I was flying out to attend the game. Attend the game wearing Oklahoma Unveristy clothing and do not cheer for either Bama or Texas in the game but enjoy all the championhip game festivities.....

oh one other thing..... tell you friend you refuse to wear burnt orange and stop and buy a can of lighter fluid and a lighter to show him you mean business....

Here's what I would do.... I'd tell my friend I'm in. Then I would to Cali and party my balls off! I'd show up to the game feeling kinda lit, and really wouldn't give two squirts of p!$$ on the outcome. Enjoy the nice warm wheather along with some nice cold adult beverages. Come on it's Cali, you'll have a great time.

I've went to a couple of texass games over the years with a texass alum friend of mine that has season tix. I would go without a doubt, especially for the price of a plane ticket. I would be cheering loud and proud for Bama and wearing a Sooner shirt to properly represent, but I would go.

the_ouskull
12/13/2009, 11:07 AM
I would go, wearing a Bama shirt with an OU shirt underneath. If, at any point, your friend is like, "Since when are you a Bama fan," or anything like that, you rip off the Bama shirt, WWE-style, and hit your friend over the head with the seat that he paid for while Jim Ross screams.

The first thing I'd do is figure out how he got a player's ticket (please say scalping, please say outrageously overpriced scalping). Then if a player is indeed guilty of any violation, I'd have to factor how important they'd be in the outcome of the game: stud player=burn 'em; bench rider=wait until the offseason or sometime around October and burn 'em.

But I'd still probably go to the game.

**** no you don't go. Geez. It's ****ing Texas. I'll go watch Texas play one time a year - in the Cotton Bowl in October. Also, have you gone to the past few OU NC games? If not, don't you dare go to one where those POS pukes from Austin are playing in one. I can't really even believe you'd consider it.

Drive to El Paso, and spend the $360 on donkeys and hookers. You might catch something, but you won't be a galdamned whorn admirer.
