Great news for OKC. Wish I was there to enjoy the benefits. The improvements are amazing in that city. It is becoming top tier in a hurry!

The MAPS projects seem to be really well thought out. It is a tax increase, but people see firsthand where the extra tax money is going, and the people clearly like it. The Federal gubmint should take notes.

Isnt it more like a continuation of a tax people were already paying?

Yeah, I have to give OKC credit. They've invested well. They turned that city into a rustbeltesque **** hole into a vibrant and thriving downtown.

It wasn't going to continue though unless a majority voted in favor of it (54% did). So yes, it is an increase in taxes over what they would have been without MAPS3 passing.

Wow, MAPS3.

MAPS1 passed before I left Oklahoma. I remember being really against it, and made the argument that OKC would never build the basketball arena, and if they did, they would never get an NBA team to come there.

Oh, well, been wrong before. Will be wrong again.

Course it did take many, many years, but that did happen.
