Alabama has a wonderful fanbase that was both fun here in Norman back in 02 and fun to visit in 03. Alabama has a wonderful football tradition and I'm glad there's fans out there that can relate to us like they can.

However... the whole 12 nat'l title thing is just weird. Your program is so awesome as-is. Why claim titles that aren't legit?

Depends on how you define "legit". If you define it as strictly titles awarded by the AP, then yes we only have 6. But all of the titles that we claim were awarded by prestigious, reputable organizations that existed at the time. It's not like we claim a title given by the Weekly Reader...Lol. Also, of the "12" that we "claim", only two are seriously questioned and brought up frequently by serious college football fans as disputable--1964 and 1973, when we lost our bowl games AFTER the award by the UPI in each case was already awarded. But don't blame us for claiming the trophy that was given to us, get mad at UPI.

Also, when you factor in that by most of the same college football fans, we were jobbed out of the NC in 1966 and 1977, it's pretty much a wash anyway.
