Sorry I've been gone a while.

I just got back from OK because my mother ended up passing shortly after her stay in the hospital.

She basically just gave up. She made my Gma and sister believe that she was making her dialysis appointments but wasn't going. And she stopped taking her meds. When my Gma couldn't reach her one day she called 911 and they took her to the hospital where she had to be put on a breathing me machine and of course dialysis. About a week after she was on the machines and being heavily sedated for pain she was coherent enough to sign paperwork to have the machines taken off of her. She passed about 20 minutes afterward on 19 Feb at 1:15pm.

We had a nice memorial service for her and I got to see alot of family members I hadn't seen in about 20 years.

It's still hard to believe she is gone. The one constant when I go back home to OK is that my mom would be there. And she wasn't able to see 3 of my children.

Thanks everyone for all your positive thoughts and prayers.

My advice to everyone is to tell those who you love that you actually love them. And not just let it be understood.

Alan

This Marine Mama sends prayers immediate and ongoing. (hug) Dear one, you being there with her is the best thing anyone can do for her. Nothing gives us strength and heart like our children. Thank you for being with her.

Father God, we lift this soldier and his mama to you, and we know you will give them all your love, strength and healing, and will comfort them as only you can. Thank you Father for guiding the doctors to doing well what you've gifted them to do. Hold this young man and his mama closely to your heart and remind them you are with them. Thank you for your blessings and guidance in every aspect of her treatment and recovery. We know that you want her healthy, whole and strong, for as you remind us in your Word "Beloved, I wish above all things that you prosper and be in good health, even as thy soul prospereth." We claim your promises and all that you give them, and we thank you for them coming to pass, Heavenly Father, in the name of your son and our brother & savior, Christ Jesus.

Bless you and your mom, sweetheart.

Well I arrived on Friday. I'm on Emergency leave from my unit receiving a red cross message on my mom. She's is currently in ICU with kidney failure and pneumonia. She also had a infection in her lungs that greatly hindered her breathing.

Right now she is improving. The infection in her lungs are gone but her kidneys are still not producing urine. So they have her on dialysis. But the doc says she is going to be in ICU at least another week. And that's only if her kidneys start working.

ICU has very odd visiting hours and whenever I see her she is either sleeping or if she does respond to me she can barely get any words out and it takes what little energy she has away.

Last night I was able to catch the games at Moose bar and grill over here close to Moore. Hopefully none of you were there and I didn't even know it.
Right now I'm at Borders in Norman.

So I just for everyone's prayers for my mom.

I'll keep you all informed.

Prayers sent !

Thanks everyone for your prayers and support. It really means alot.

Well her kidneys are still not functioning. And her body looks so fatigued and frail. She talks a little more clearer however she goes in and out between words. So it's hard to piece what she is trying to say to me together.

Today I'm going to pay all her bills.

I'm holding up pretty well. I've been able to see some relatives that I haven't seen in about 10 years. And I sat down with my Grandma and talked with her about 2 hours. She insisted on teilling me all the people that have died since I was here last. Thanks Grandma.LOL

Thanks fellow Sooners. I'm doing good. We just hit our half way point on our deployment so it's all downhill from now. And I saved my R&R time for the second half. I'm doing better though. Again thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.
