Switzer and Tommy Bowden (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Tommy+Bowden&CATEGORY=PERSON) will coach teams made up of college football legends and military personnel in a flag football game sponsored by Tostitos (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Tostitos&CATEGORY=PRODUCT) and the Fiesta Bowl (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Fiesta+Bowl&CATEGORY=MISC).
"I've never been (to the Middle East (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Middle+East&CATEGORY=REGIONS))," said Switzer, who leaves Dec. 27 for Kuwait City (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Kuwait+City&CATEGORY=CITY). "I'm looking forward to it.
"American soldiers, they love college football. We're taking a bowl game to them."

The game will be played at a base in Iraq. The exact location and time is not released, for security purposes.
The game is billed as the Salute the Troops Bowl. The former college stars will team with selected military personnel to form the squads.
Highlights from the event will be shown during halftime of the Jan. 4 Fiesta Bowl.
The event for the troops also will include a pre-game pep rally and tailgate party.

Man, Garrison Hearst, what happened to that guy? He had like one pretty good year with the 49ers and just dropped off the planet. Did he get hurt or something?

He tore up his leg one yr but came back for a little while after that

That's right, broke his ankle really horribly and had that deal Bo Jackson did with his hip, except with his heel. Came back for a couple of years then retired.

I can get you the number, because I finance the rotator flights over there.:D As for the troops they will get to play at the game, The King ought to get GEN Odierno. He's 6'6", 250, and played TE at West Point. In fact, after his rotation, there are rumors of the GEN's retirement. We ought to see if he has any eligibility left. I was his money man, as well, in Iraq, and used to workout with him. He's in great shape. We could use help at TE!:D
