He's just fast. :(

Really, it was a routine traffic stop. No DUI, no crash, he was just fast, that's all.

Wish my car could go 108 mph. If I could find a steep enough mountain... He is fast and so is his car!!!

I'm shocked! I always thought that "he's so fast, they can't see him go by."

"Peterson tells The Associated Press he didn't realize how fast he was going."

Maybe that's true in the sense that he didn't look at his speedometer right before he got pulled over, but he knew full well he was going dangerously fast. If you've ever driven over 100 mph, you know it.

Impossible. Otherwise he'd have been from the SEC.

Not only that, so do other people on the road that get in their way.

I'm disappointed in ya, fella. Shame on that kind of foolishness, AD.

In all seriousness, the dude needs a talking to by someone older and wiser than him.

It is possible that with a luxury car he didn't notice. It's easier to notice higher speeds on older cars than new ones.

Not that I've ever driven 100 mph, but I have driven 70 on older and newer cars... and the older car didn't like it one bit :D

From personal experience, when you are going 100-110 mph in a 2000 corvette, you KNOW you are going fast. You can feel it. When you go the same speed in a 1996 Cadillac Seville, you don't feel like you are going over 80-85 mph. You just feel like you are floating in a boat.

I don't know what he was driving, but it could make a difference. I could have swore I was doing under 85 in the Caddy, but looked down and I was doing around 105.

You mean the other way around?

Peterson wrote a story about the Associated Press getting a speeding ticket?

Best comment on the story from ESPN's website:

"I heard Brett Favre also got pulled over - He was going 35 MPH in a 55 MPH zone and his left turn blinker had been on for 10 minutes."

Hes old.

I think there is a maximum fine that can be given. If I'm not mistaken it is the same for anything over 25mph over the speed limit. Some police will actually give you a ticket for racing if you are going over 25 even if you are the only car.

depends on where you are... in Las Vegas, NM, 27 over was $150 and nothing

if i would have been closer to Santa Fe though, i think i had to show up in court :O

in OK i think i would have paid more like 2x that

Big deal, he was on a highway. I doubt he was zigging in and out of traffic. I, for one, have gone 120+ just to see what the car could do when no one was around, or so I thought.

Hell, a buddy and I did 140 in a 308gts in a fiddy zone back in August. good times... And yes, you can tell that you are going fast at 140 mere inches off the ground.
