He has some sort of handicap but you really can't tell. He sure loves his football and will talk to you like crazy about it. It's great. I talked to him quite a bit when I was working in the athletic cafeteria while he came over and ate lunch. I think he also does laundry, at least that was one of his duties when I was there from 04-06.

He is definitely a nice guy and IS OU Football for all I care. He knows his football team!

His name is David Logie. As a Bishop McGuinness grad, I got to know him really well because he spends a lot of his time with one of the prominent families that attend the school. He was at everyone of my freshmen football games back in the day. I've never met a nicer, more friendly guy in my life and I'm glad he gets to run the tee off every Saturday because he is as big an OU football fan as it gets.

My coworker knows the full scoop from his days of student managing for the football team, but he is in Philly the next few days.

I noticed he looked a step slow on Saturday and mentioned it to the regular in the seat next to me. He said his buddy told him he had put down some copious amounts of Thanksgiving goodness over the holiday, must've been the hitch in his get up.

I consider myself to be pretty active and in shape, and I'm still pretty sure he could smoke me in the forty!

When I lived in Alabama Gene Stallings was coaching the Tide, and his son, with Down's Syndrome, was the most beloved Crimson Tide fan in the state.

I have a cousin with Down's Syndrome who has amazingly lived into his 50's. Elvis never met his biggest fan....

Great thread! I always wondered his story. Anyone know his approximate age? Sorry if somebody said, and I missed it.

Thanks for the insight. The coolest part is sometimes there is a coach barking at him the whole time is he running out there and then congratulating him when he gets back.

Hell, there are a few of them I'd buy.

He should catalog those things and put them up for sale. I'll bet they'd let him keep them.

I always thought it would be amazing to have a chunk of the old turf as carpet for a media room in my house.

I always thought it would be amazing to have a chunk of the old turf as carpet for a media room in my house.

I stood and watch the Ags cut it up and take pieces as souvenir's when they beat us during the dark time. I haven't gotten completely over that yet. My daughter was on the flag unit at the time and during the post game she was doing her routine with tears streaming down her face while the Ags ripped up pieces of turf. I curse the name Snellenberger(sp)

I didn't mean I wanted to cut up anything... I'd love to own a piece of the old astroturf for my home... roughly 300 sq. ft.

Just imagine stepping onto Owen Field history right in your own home's media room.

Yep... I'd love it.

Sadly, I'll bet most of it went to the dump.

He doesn't have down syndrome and he turned 37 this year I believe. He does do the laundry for the coaches, team, and staff.
